Hi.
Thank you for a great tutorial on this prodject, but for some reasons I have problems accessing the GPT HDD.
The other program sees it as a GPT windows ses is as an MBR (see picture)
I have done al the above and i get this error messages.
I'm running Emunand 8.1 on my switch. using the latest programs in the explenation text on topp.
Got any solutions for this problem?

Sadly, no. Probably corrupted EMMC?

The wierd thing is that it still works on the switch itself. It might be thet sxos have made something different in their Emulator images that won't work as well as others?

It's possible. Ask on forum, probably, someone with more knowledge than me can help you out :D

What type of emuNAND are you using ? Is it a partition of your eMMC ?
If so, did you try the "repair GPT" feature that comes with SX OS bootloader ?

The Emunand I'm using is the hidden partition on the memmory card. I diddn't know it had one of those features included. I'll have a look and see if it would work for me,. I'll let you know if it worked or not. Thanks :)

I think this is why HacDiskMount gives you that error. Your GPT was updated when you created your emuNAND. Repair GPT feature may broke your emunand though, so be careful.

Is there any other way to get access to the files on the ''hdd'' other than backup the sections, do the changes and restore them to the switch?. the main reason for accessing the drive is to copy inn nintendo games to the original nintendo emulator that the switch has installed. I know there are emulator etc. but its noot the same. And ofcoure I like to have full controll of my equiptment ;). Everything works after the GPT update excep HacDiskMount imaging.

After I used memloader to inject my 2 saves into my restored switch, it booted into the fresh startup wizard(connect joy cons, select language, etc) I hard powered off switch and re booted and it loaded normally but I noticed my theme was switch back to white. idk what else was changed into the background and hope its doesn't trigger a ban.

I'm having trouble getting this to work. I have used Tegra to inject the memloader payload and it works, but it doesn't get detected at all. It's stuck at "Attempting to communicate with USB Host" and the driver is installed correctly. Unless... what is memloader suposed to be using as the driver?

Usually happen when AUTORCM is enabled.

  • Power up you Switch in RCM Mode without inject Payload
  • TegraRCM will find a RCM Device
  • Keep Pressed Power for a while until unit will Power Off
  • Wait a While (10 seconds)
  • Power Up your switch again in RCM Mode
  • You should be able to acces to Boot 0 Boot1 and so on...

any ways to use this method to boot as Driver (for SDs) even if .ini are not the SD itself?

I ask it n case like me you can not access SD card (no reader around)
The thing would be to boot as driver for SD card and maintly use switch as SD card reader (yeah pricy SD reader I know)

Don't mind me seem like I was just stupid, last version of TegraRCMGui have it with a one click sorry for that stupid post

Well, I did find that to work, however I no longer have the Switch I was doing that with unfortunately. It was bricked beyond my abilities, so I already sent it to Nintendo for a repair a long while ago and got a new one. However I went and traded that one for a pre-owned Switch that had the right serial number for CFW. Yeah, it costed me a lot, but I find the cost worth it. Weird I know...

So the eMMC appear as a USB disk right? how will I see it on Windows or you just flat out can't? I waned a nice easy way to back up my stuff. Will I have to use Linux to see it?
You might need to assign drive letters for each FAT32 partition.

When I try to use this, regardless of ini file, it gets stuck on parsing. Any ideas?

EDIT: If I use TegraRcmGUI's built-in version, I get this error when I try to mount anything.

Code:
MTC_LOAD Error during lzma decompression, got 0 instead of 4294967295 bytes out!

Hey, so I have something to add regarding that the Switch can´t be turned on anymore. I just booted my Switch in RCM for the first time, and when I disconnected it from the PC port it wouldn´t turn on anymore. But I have found out why. It happens if you disconnect the Switch while RCM mode is still active. There is a relatively simple fix for that. By using the Hekate payload, you can select the option "Turn off power" which will end RCM mode, and you can boot up normally again. Hope my discovery (at least if I was the one to discover it) will help others with the same problem :-)

That is because RCM counts as the console being "on" to some extent but RCM also looks identical to the console being off. Instead of using Hekate, you can just perform a manual shutdown. So while the thought is appreciated, your information is not groundbreaking and has been known since fusee gelee was leaked.
