Is there a way to rip NDS games and saves off their cartridges for use with TwiLight Menu ++?
For the NDS game
  1. Insert your gamecart into your console
  2. Boot your console while holding (START) to launch Godmode9
  3. Navigate to [C:] GAMECART
  4. Press (A) on the <titleid>.trim.ndsfile in the drive
  5. Select Copy to /gm9/out
  6. Press (START) to save and reboot
  7. Your dump will be in the /gm9/outfolder on the SD card

Not sure about the save though.

Ok this is a question about my hacked 3DS.

I haven't used it in years. And it worked just fine before now.

But now I get this random ARM9 crashes (prefetch abbort).
Sometimes when I just turn it off...

It's an old 3DS so not the revised one. Problem is it has been years and I have no idea how to trouble shoot it anymore >_<

sys11.6.0-39E

What could be the problem. It runned fine before, changed nothing and now it's freaking out randomly...

Does your 3ds run without a SD card?

If so try these steps

(1) Convert all games you own into .cia files

(2) Cut and past the directory labeled Nintendo 3ds from your SD card to your PC

(3) Power on your 3ds and see if it runs if it does install your .cia files

I hope this helps
You have a lot of these where you just post without quoting someone. No it aint a bad thing. Its just confusing to others who you are trying to convey your thoughts to.

My 3ds is on ver.11.8.0-41/Luma 3ds v9.1

I have a problem I have been trying to fix,
I can't turn off parental controls even though I know the PIN as when i try to Clear Settings by the button in Parental Controls' setting I get this error message:
"The necessary data is missing. With the internet connected, please wait with the HOME Menu open, without activating Sleep Mode. Then try selecting Clear Settings."
I've tried to do so but nothing changes.
If i turn manually off each setting there are some which automatically stay on so I must turn it off through this button but i keep receiving this message.
What should I do?
I've looked all over and can't find anything

You could try updating your system if data is missing this will recover it but make sure your homebrew can handle a firmware update Luma3ds works fine with firmware 11.12

Time to go for the (clean) nuclear option.

1. From System Settings and Friends List, write down your user information.
  • Profile: User Name, Birthday, Region Settings
  • Connection Settings: Connection 1,2,3 (WIFI info)
  • NNID and password
  • Friend Code: #### - #### - ####
2. Restart the 3DS system, hold (START), and launch GodMode9.

3. Make a backup of this specific nand folder & file.
3. For safety and extra peace of mind, go to this directory and verify if that folder was copied.
  • [0:] SDCARD ()/gm9/out/00010017
4. Navigate back to that directory and delete this specific file.
  • 1:/data/<ID0>/sysdata/00010017/00000000 → press (X) → <A> yes<A> yes → button combo → <A> yes
  • :!: Do not delete anything else.
5. Press (START) to exit GodMode9. You will be greeted with the new user introduction.
  • Fill in all your user information. Visit Nintendo eShop and/or online play to sign-in/re-link the NNID.

***

Word of the warning.
  • The above guide is not the same as Format System Memory. This guide helps to preserve your other user settings.
  • :!: Do not go to System SettingsOther SettingsFormat System Memory

My Luma3DS has been on the shelf for awhile (working before hiatus).

An error has occured: Failed to apply 1 FIRM patch(es).

Google said put the nightly luma build boot.firm on the SD card, done no change.

I can get in to Godmode (hold start), Luma config screen 8.1.1 (hold select) and have my original back ups.

What's next oh grand experts.

What version of Luma is showing when you enter the Luma config screen?

Hello.:)

If you have put a new boot.firm on your SD Card and still get the Error,I think your Console does not find the File.
Then it falls back to the Backup on the NAND.
Please download the latest v10.0.1 release from here and unpack boot.firm on a different, empty and FAT32 formatted SD Card.
Please see if the Console boots with that.

Thank you.:)

Hi I did (a probably faulty) ctrtransfer with the d9 method and faketik says there are no missing titles, is there any solution? Also is it safe to just delete the titles at SD:\Nintendo 3DS\(id)\01ab0131472000005344313600413432\title? They take up a lot of space, I don't mind starting things over. Also I have tons of exceptional errors but I can live with that for now I will do another ctr transfer but there is an issue about that as well. Thanks

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
