It been a few years since the situation for Youtube content creators have been dark, and with the recently new updates for the rules and "kids content", many people wonder if this is the beginning of the end. We all know there are not a single video hosting website as big as Youtube, but some users at r/youtube have been pointing some alternatives. From what i saw there and on comments on youtube videos, the three major candidates are: Bitchute, Vimeo, and Dailymotion. Is there more out there?
Luckily i don't use Youtube for work, my channel is not even monetized, but i would hate to lose my 10 years old channel, with all my videos, playlists, comments and fans. Its more of a emotional thing, i learned a lot thanks to Youtube, like video and image editting. For context, my content is heavily gaming related (Pokémon gameplays and video essays), its not kid friendly, only 10% of my viewers are 13-17 years old. I marked my channel as not suitable for kids, but Youtube can change that if they want.

Bitchute seens to be the best, but i found the platform very unfiltered with many political and "red pill" stuff. Vimeo is paid, and no one watches DailyMotion. What now?

How does that affect the videos you're hypothetically going to upload to it?
Of the "distributed hosting" ones, I can say something in favor of D.Tube, though

and no one watches DailyMotion
Hardly anyone may think of opening dailymotion to search for some random video (which is actually a symptom of overcentralization), but a general internet search engine would have no big problem finding something uploaded there - that is, a search engine without a conflict of interest (we know what that means)

Honestly if you can afford a higher-end symmetric connection, to leave a PC on almost all the time, and are willing to learn - maximum freedom for a reasonable price* is only achieved by self hosting

* assuming you were going to subscribe anyway to such a service

All I'm going to say is that YouTube is not going to disappear anytime soon.

I know, it will be there for a long time. What i mean in the focus of Youtube is shifting from original content made by normal people, to mainstream media. Its still Youtube, its there, but it's not the same.

I don't think it would be good to upload videos on a platform that has a reputation of being overly political. Maybe i'm just too idealistic in wanting a new platform that was more like Youtube from early 2010's, with those flash animations, game parodies, Youtube Poops.
Thanks, i didn't knew about D.tube. Just looked at it and i liked.

Well, the single best "old youtube" video I know about was uploaded by "bob smith", formerly known as "TheStraight911Truth" and yes having those kinds of videos, ripping the original from Google Video :P

These days I just download every video that I watch more than twice - you never know when they'll be gone (and not because some youtuber sold out to some new arbitrary rule)
I'm not even innocent - I somewhat regret deleting my old 2007-2012 account (even if it had an unpronounceable and literally randomly generated name)

Probably Vimeo. That does seem to be the most popular one among content creators. No one uses DailyMotion and last I checked it was more or less only used for hosting pirated TV shows. But they may have tightened up the restrictions on that now. Bitchute I've not actually heard of.
Do not think other websites won't get the same treatment as YouTube did over that COPPA thing though. They have to follow the same laws as everyone else.

It hasn't been the same since the removal of Broadcast Yourself

I don't really understand all the complaining over youtube, just take your business to buttchute if youtube ain't floating your boat

Afaik Youtube has the largest audience.

I know some upload to multiple sites e.g. EEVBlog, but Youtube is the main site for a reason.

If someone like PewDiePie changes or there’s a mass exodus there’s a chance, but for a smaller channel as is, it could effectively be suicide.
