jungle flasher for cfw on the optical drive. rgh -- @DinohScene may have written a tutorial on that on here.

edit: btw, jungle flasher may look daunting, but it covers all makes/models of drives. you just need yours.

i would not care about live on the consoles that i hack - i currently have 4 slims and would probably hack 2 of them.

picked one up yesterday for $15 including kinect and a controller !

no it works perfectly - the seller was a second hand shop and was selling cheap because the power adapter was missing the last bit of it that plugs into the wall so they couldnt test if it was working or not

ok guys - i went ahead and bought the unit that i was originally asking about for $80 CDN.

now do i need to buy one of the caddies or can we run games off of a usb hard drive ?

it came with a little usb key that has XEX menu or something like that

I was new to the whole RGH party only a couple weeks ago too Basically it was advised to go with an internal HDD for the best compatibility with everything. I ended up buying a 20GB from GameStop for $3.. then I took it apart and put a 500GB drive inside.. but you can go up to 2TB I believe. I'm mostly just using mine for XBLA stuff anyway, so I didn't need the extra space. You may want to go larger if you're planning on loading lots of stuff.

thanks when you say 'internal' drive you mean the one in the caddy correct ?

certain things, such as xbox compatibility files, require an internal drive. and, yes, internal = one with a caddie.

ok so i got it mostly set up - swapped out the hard drive with a 750 gb that i had, installed freestyle dash and set mostly everything up.

i download a game in iso format and ftp'd it to the xbox and added the game path but i dont think it is showing up after i do a scan.

under xbox games it just shows a few unnamed selections but none of them do anything. in fact under all the sections of my library the same selections show.

are games supposed to be in iso format or something else ?

anyone know what i might be going wrong ?

You need to add and scan directories like Kodi/XBMC or like RetroArch.

games need to be in jtag or god (games on demand) format. you can use exiso for jtags and iso2god for god games.
