Hacking Question Buying a unpatched Switch tablet only for under $200, 3rd accessories after

Would any of ya'll recommend this? I see whole sets going for $350+ on eBay with the tablets under $200. I figured I'd go tablet only and get accessories elsewhere but found out the dock and joycons are $130 and $60 respectively. Is it a good idea to buy 3rd party accessories to go with my Switch? Are the highly rated ones on Amazon reliable?

Depends on what you want, price for tablet around 160-170 are fair, keep in mind that if you buy from a wholesaler you might just get a different unit than what is showed in the pictures, you can get lucky if you can get a pair of joycon for about 50 dollars, if you are going to play mostly handheld mode maybe just consider without a dock, keep in mind if you buy everything individually you won't get a charger with the tablet probably.

i did this through ebay and have no regrets, just curious though, with the new hacks on the way, why do you want an unpatched unit? for a bit more you can have double battery life and hacks.

Yes, there is a new hack, but as always with this things, we dont know when so if you want to play games, go for the tablet now.

200$ it is maybe a little high, but if you are planning to play lots of games, it is worth. If you want to get the new hack, you can sell that unpatched one latter.

Always use official dock and charger!!.
Nintendo power delivery standard is not exactly on par with most chargers and battery packs. some 3rd party docks like the Nyko dock reported to fry the Power IC chip causing brick.

Some users find no issue with 3rd party chargers and docks, but some get bricked.
Not heard of a issue with official bricking due to official charger or dock.

as for joycons,
go ahead the power is so low in them anyway, just dont cross pin 4 on the joycon rail with ground as that pin 4 is 5v live..
I would be worried about the joystick quality and battery and signal range if using or buy 3rd party joycon. The official joycons are crap, the drifting issue they have is ridiculous,
Hence why i bought the 8bitdo switch adapter and use the xbox one controller, or sometimes the ps4 controller, some games require joy con only so thats when they will be used as little as possible so no realy bad drifting of joycon..

But please buy official charger there not expensive if you know were to look.
Grab the official dock also..
And if any usbc cables make sure they have 56k ohm resistor.

I just got mine the other day. Got it for 150.00 right off ebay too, I needed a clean switch after my OG was banned online. Works just fine, a little scuff on the screen but nothing that can't be fixed. Always check them ratings on their profile!

Yeah stay away from 3rd party docks or chargers. Controllers/cons meh, same as any other gen, there are good ones, and there are crap ones.

Then the response is simple: not everyone is comfortable. One static discharge due to inexperience, then you’re out of money since Nintendo warranty doesn’t cover that. Unpatched unit softmod is easier especially using TX donge.

So I just bought my Switch+dock combo off eBay for 215+tax. Going to be picking up a 128gb micro SD, jig, and USB-C cable soon, along with joycons or some 3rd party version of them. Question, does the dock have to be the first version for it to work? Or does it not matter because both the old and new are the same?

ah i didnt read it was hard mod. Well, with that being the case id say yea you are better off going for ebay. There are sites you can use that will check if a serial is compatible with hacks or not.

$184 at Gamestop? Was that for the whole system or just a tablet? Last time I checked gamestop the used systems went for $260 minimum. The unpatched tablet only sales go for around $180 on ebay right now. I'm still trying to find a good deal on an unpatched system one but probably will end up trying my luck on facebook marketplace as those tend to be around $200.
