I still think that the look and feel of o3ds was better than any handheld console.
How smooth the bottom half is and the color choices they made... Aaah.

It was nice. only thing I didnt like of the 3ds was the fact the 3ds slider used a light up system to say when 3d was on. didnt like that.
at least it told you when games supported 3d on the fly, rather than looking it up, or having a game that isn't 3d in most places but suddenly has 3d for no reason in specific spots

Thank goodness, nothing is dead.
Luma3DS is still working and the "Games" as Gift Packages as well.:D
And a new System Update is available too.....

3DS may die but it will yet live on in our hearts.

Real talk though, the 3DS is amazing. It literally supports playing like 99% of Nintendo's entire handheld library, from the Gameboy all the way up to the 3DS. The only games that don't work are those with special hardware that VC and AGB FIRM don't support. And that's not even counting NES, SNES and Game Gear yet either.

For something you can get for only $50 off Nintendo's store, this is amazing.

The eShop is still open and has had 7 new indie releases since the beginning of September:
https://www.nintendo.com/games/game... 3DS&indexName=noa_aem_game_en_us_release_des

As other have stated, Nintendo still sells new 2DS and New 2DS XLs: https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/us/p...categoryId=cat750772&navAction=pop&navCount=2

They also sell "refurbished" New 3DS XL's:
https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/us/p...lse&productId=prod880691&categoryId=cat750772

Just bought one last week and it is indistinguishable from brand new. Only difference is a white box instead of a retail box. I don't know why people obsess over whether a console is "dead" or not. The Wii just received another physical release and people play Mario Kart Wii online every single day. How's that for dead?

I'm still tempted to upgrade my original XL to a 2DS XL, tbh. I just wish they'd hurry up and release that red/black Mario Kart edition in the west.
The black/turquoise model doesn't look so bad though, so I might just settle for that.
