so I downloaded the asian version and also download the english patch. I changed it to .KW and now i have no language loll I would like to play the asian version instead of the japanese version because the cheats work for the asian version. any idea how i can fix this?
If you're using Asian version, you should to change it to either TW or KR. I'm using Asian version right now and changing the file name to KR. Works fine for me.
Don't forget to change the folder name to Asian Title ID too which is 0100C2D00EBD4000.

No no. If you change the file name from JP to KR it's telling the Switch to replace Korean language with English that is on the file. If you leave it as JP it'll only replace Japanese language which doesn't exist in Asian version.

Double check your folder paths (and let us know what they are) along with what game version you are using (default language)

I've got the English patch installed and working fine but now when I open the game its black. I can see the health bar, time, menu and interact with things but I cant see anything else, Anyone have a fix for this?
First, I don't think I've ever seen a quadruple post before, that takes some kinda special. Anyway, I've married a few different girls on various files as a female character, and there seems to be no distinction in the actual game. The only difference is they say "girlfriend" rather than "boyfriend" for a lot of text, and Yu said something like "a girl playing papa" in one of popuri's scenes, so I guess they actually changed some text manually too. Other than that though, it seems to be equivalent. You get a whole actual wedding scene as well, and you're both in bridal veils. I'm not sure how kids work, I'll have to get back to you on that since those take time.
Edit: I just realized this is likely off-topic. Sorry about that, let's make a new thread for gameplay discussion. The mod's working fine, by the way. I'm in my second summer and I just got married to Jennifer. The worst case scenario for text is that it sometimes just doesn't appear, which is somewhat funny anyway.

nobody decompresses anything to do this, it is simply a file on the sd that redirects the language file from Japanese to English.

you have to copy the folder with all those numbers to the MOD folder of the game.
I am completely baffled that this is the actual translation that was in the files. I found multiple meme references so far, and that would mean that they actually intentionally put them in. It legit hurts me to see a "shrek is love, shrek is life" meme in my favorite harvest moon game 
I agree. If this is what the final translation is going to look like, I would be very interested in a mod that changes the weird jokes to the normal translation the original game had. I wonder if the japanese text had weird references like the translation does? Either way it really ruins the experience.

of course this isn't what the final translation will be like. I'd guess it's a rough draft at best with the localisation team having fun with parts of the game they don't expect people to see. enjoy what's here and the fact you can even partially understand what's happening, and buy the game when it's out to support the complete localisation.
