Application mode is a solid option that most other knowledgeable devs recommend and doesn't seem to cause any actual problems, but it's nice to have choices, do your thing.
Checkpoint doesn't like it though. For some reason

Checkpoint is coded poorly. I could go into the technical reasons if you like, but it doesnt matter really. Poor coding summarizes it pretty well.
I think you mean applet mode?No need. I just know that anytime you try to use Checkpoint in app mode it throws you a red screen and asks you not to. Dunno if it then crashes or forces you to quit or lets you continue since i haven't used it in a long time
I think you mean applet mode?
Can't see any possible downside to using the same abbreviation for two opposite concepts. Confusing language aside, like I said most devs recommend application mode.Yeah. I guess App can be considered short for Application, i just use it as short for both Application and Applet. But yeah that's what i mean

Again you're talking about applet mode. Checkpoint likes application mode.Yeah checkpoint is the only homebrew i've seen that doesn't like it
Is there a reason why Tinfoil v5.10 requires the Atmosphere fork/malware again?it’s included, but it’s not required

Don't think he disabled it for the mod but simply for older Tinfoil versions than 5.1.0 and since the mod's latest release is 5.0 it won't work like it won't with hbg shop 5.0 any longer to see the games. He is probably trolling you all
I downloaded 5.1 it because i thought the checks were gone forever... but no... false alarm.
I went back to the Tinfoil Mod, the app works but the online shop is not working anymore, maybe he disabled it for the Mod.

Titledb was disabled for tinfoil versions lower than 5.10. The latest and last version of the mod is 5.00. Why did he do it? Simple, he has a bone to pick with the mod and is using a certain piracy discord as a scapegoat, blaming them for his actions. His pettiness has risen to levels beyond what you can consider acceptable
I mean, it is well within my rights to disable services to old clients. If your mod is doing something with my software that I do not agree with, you shouldnt be shocked when I disable its services to force an upgrade. That is software development 101, everyone does it Go write nintendo some hate mail for disabling their online services for old clients
If you removed it, say, 7 years after release, fine. But 5.0 came out like a week ago
@blawar said it himself, the "fork" of atmosphere isn't needed he just forces people to use it because he wants to not because tinfoil actually needs it.Anyway, i don't understand why i have to use the patched atmosphere files for Tinfoil if using these files makes some games unplayable, like "Cuphead": this game works perfect with the vanilla atmosphere (and im sure there are other games that stop working by using these files).
Also, i can't undestand why i have to be forced to use the "Album" for launching HBL and i can't config it to only open HBL thru the buttons and not by default.
Tinfoil is very nice, but would be much nicer if it was OS friendly.
it’s included, but it’s not required
