Make sure you have OpenGL (not vulkan) enabled in video drivers (well..if everything else is set up correctly of course..and yeah, atmosphere is free and opensource, you can use it since the flycast core is very impressive there)
But im using Lakka... so i would be happy to be able using Lakka (RetroArch) with dreamcast core (flycast)

It is playable. Is it perfectly playable and full speed (e.g. like cvs2), then no. It still suffers from lags and slowdowns which are still there even with full oc... So wait for further updates i guess.

Is work still being done on this? I know Yaba Sanshiro has been getting some hype, but I'm just wondering if there's more optimizations coming for this core, or if we've hit the ceiling. I certainly hope it's not the latter considering how close the Switch is coming to being the GOAT for retro emulation!...assuming you don't mind not using shaders for more advanced emulators. *cries in crt-royale*

Anyone else getting random freezing after playing games for a while? so far it's happened in Sonic Adventure (a few times) and Jet Set Radio. It seems to happen 10mins + into gameplay but its not exact, it seems to be a random thing.

EDIT: sorry @Silent_Gunner didnt mean to quote u :P

And melonDS, and let's not forget PPSSPP still needs to be upstream'ed, tbh m4xw's to-do list is quite long (not to mention his CFW side projects), so all I can say is wait until things are being done, good stuff will come in due time :)

Shit, he's doing all of that? Isn't PPSSPP already on HorizonArch, or is that LakkArch (yes, I'm giving nicknames to each of the different ways to use RetroArch on Switch because fuck, so many different ways to run homebrew on Switch is driving this Mad Dog madder than he already can be at times!) that has it integrated with its build of RetroArch?

Not to mention, from what I remember reading earlier into the forum, the dev for the ARM64 (might be the incorrect terminology) build is working with m4xw to implement it into HorizonArch. Is it a case of "ARM64 dev has made optimizations, m4xw will implement them when he gets around to it," kind of situation, given what I know now about m4xw's workload?

I'm kind of "meh" when it comes to DS emulation personally just because to do it requires you to do some things you normally don't have to do on a PC like having a mic or having to use a mouse or, in my setup, actually bind Joystick Mouse to the right touchpad of a Steam Controller. All things handled more easily by my dual-IPS New 3DS that I outbidded a very angry competitor on eBay for, as the seller told me after the fact! :rofl2:

Still, what are his CFW side projects? I know he does a lot for RetroArch on the Switch, but I never heard anything about those that I'm aware of...

Yeah, i've recently finished shenmue (my first playthrough) on switch flycast and i had quite a lot of random freezes too, but thank god savestates work fine so i was able to finish the game without any major problems. Haven't played any other game for long to report freezes tho, but judging from your post i guess its a common issue (also RA crashes not long after closing content using flycast).

The PPSSPP builds on buildbot comes from his custom fork and not upstream, he wants his changes on upstream PPSSPP. With CFW side projects I meant stuff like emummc, sys-clk, telemetry and such.

I have installed 2 bins only for DC not naomi so my switch has been update from choidujourNX to 8.1.0 from 4.1.0 with atmosphere hold R on game title. I tested Hydro Thunder n it came in black loading and Marvel vs Capcom 2 came in good at start when I play fight it slow at 1750 mph I must be missing something. I put the bins in dc folder in retroarch/core/system/. Am I doing right and I used latest update build libretro

You are definitely missing some english grammar and yeah, mvc2 is not running full speed yet, but if you managed to launch it, that means you've set everything up just fine. You can also try reading the thread from the beginning, it'll only take like 10-15 mins., it's not that long.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
