The Windows thing would probably not work for the Switch, it might however work on the Linux version.

Hmm, the only PSP thing I saw, was the streaming one, like this:

Edit: It seems like porting BennuGD should be the way to go for the Switch.

Someone was able to get the game on the GCW Zero:

Here is the PSP version (v5.1) running on PPSSPP emulator:

Looks very good!
Can you upload this? I can't find this for the PSP at all. We might get this game to work on the Switch using the PSP emulator
It best works with version 0.9.9.1 of PPSSP which comes bundled in the zip.

Although it seems to work with the latest version of PPSSPP.

You will have to mess around with settings to get it working, there are some graphical glitches and the game crashes when with savestates, so delete them if you find that happening.

Now that PPSSPP is out...

Get the PSP version

Put the folder in /switch on your micro sd {I have my folder/s in a PSP Homebrew folder so they aren't everywhere}.

Launch Core PPSSPP

Launch Content EBOOT

I renamed the eboot to Streets of Rage Remake and forwarded it with Nro2Nsp as a test and it's just as expected.

Still got to play around with the settings. I don't know when/if I'll get back to that since I have a million other versions. Blaze didn't show, but she was hitting and I heard her. Also, all of the characters were blue and looks like the game does a 'savegame' on it's own which freezes the Switch. It'll be inside the game's folder.

I keep seeing some port of this show on OpenDingux chinese handhelds, wondering where that even came from.
Well I'd imagine it couldn't be hard to get it working on those as they are linux based and there are linux ports of the game available already.

So does that mean we could get it running on L4T Ubuntu here?

I'd doubt it. Yes, Ubuntu is on the Switch, but the problem here is that the Switch has an ARM processor as opposed to x86. Has the source for this game (which is closed, not open) even been updated since version 5.whatever? If not, I'm not sure that the author had even considered adding in ARM support...

A few years ago, BennuGD was ported to Raspberry Pi, and so we were able to play SORR on those devices. Basically, they got BennuGD's source code, compiled it on that device, and then tried running BGDI interpreter passing SorR.dat file as argument. It worked just fine.

The same must be done for Nintendo Switch. Here's BennuGD source code in sourceforge.

Well I was implying about the ports on the OpenDingux handhelds. I'm sure it's possible to get this running on the switch somehow but itd be up to some one with programming skills to actually do it. I'd love to see it done though.

And thus, hope is reignited!

This looks interesting, I hope someone can use the "BennuGD source code in sourceforge" to get a switch port running. This would be great to play while waiting for streets of rage 4 to come out.
