Hardware I recently acquired a 3ds with a bunch of games in it but I have a concern

I don't know anything about hacking or homebrewing. I just got this 3ds from someone that received it the same way I did.

It had pokemon omega ruby, and I tried to access to the online and wonder trades. And it works fine.

So, a friend game me her game of Pokémon moon to play. But when I tried to get into the online, it said the game needed an update. And when I tried to update the game, the eshop tells me the console needs an update first.

My question is, will the games be unplayable if I update the console? Will I still be able to access the online of the games installed in here?

I have 11.9.0-42U if that helps.

Check if it has cfw on it if it doesent that's fine and no updating it will not prevent the games from not working and u can cfw on latest fw

It says "Rosalina Menu" and it has a bunch of options. And says at the bottom "Luma3DS v9.0-89cc6ede".

Does this mean that I can't update the 3ds because it will screw up everything?

Ok update to Luma3DS v10.0.1 then update the 3ds

Extract the zip and place the boot.firm on root of SD card
