Hardware PS4 wont turn on after 7.0 update

Hello guys,

Today i've tried to update my PS4 slim and after update has finished my console doesn't wants to turn on. It only flashes blue light on and off slowly and can't do anything. I have tried to turn it off, doesn't work. Have tried to unplug it. After unpluging it turns off but right after puging it back it automatically turns on and same problem happens. When I press PS button on game pad, it only flashes light blue and nothing happens. Any help? Safe mode also doesnt work

Update: I can only force it to shut down but after it I can only turn it back on and nothing else happens.

really hard to say what's wrong ,it could be blod,hdd or psu,dit you have a working blue-ray drive before you updated.really strange you can't acces safe mode,dit you try booting up whitout the hdd connected and se what happens.it's blinking blue because it's doing a hardware check and something is wrong normally i would say a blod(apu or ram chip solder point) it's just really strange it happend after a update.

I was greeted with update software now warning, so I guess it's full version. Does PS automatically uploads my save files if I have PS plus?

Also I didn't had any issues with my PS. It's not even whole year since I bought it

if it's still in warranty i take it back ,great chance it's a blod,minor chance psu or there's somthiing wrong with the update

I highly doubt it's blod since I can turn on my PS4 and can take out CD from the console. It doesn't shuts down immediately. Only thing which I can do is force shut it down.

Also whenever I plug the console back, it automatically turns on and flashes that blue light.

Did you shut it down while it is updating?

Could it be a resolution issue? Does your TV detect it in any other sockets?

No, TV doesn't detects it, but it's consoles fault. Controllers do turns on the console, but they aren't blue as they are supposed to, they are light blue instead and they don't flash so rapidly. So I guess it's some software defect.

Can you get into recovery/safe mode at all?

Turn off your console and then hold down the Power button until you hear 2 beeps (7-8 seconds). Connect the DualShock 4 controller using the provided USB cable and then press the PS button to access Safe Mode

No I can't. I can only force shut down my console. When i turn it on I dont get any beep at all, only beep which I hear is after around 15 secs and console shuts it down.

Also I can take out discs and insert them without a problem, console seems not to have problems reading them. Is i really doubt it's blod caused by overheating.

when you shut it down, take out the power cable for 60 seconds. Plug it back in and hold the power button down for 7-8 seconds and see if you get 2 beeps.

No, Im not getting second beep. Only first one when im turning console, and one after 15 secs which turns off the console.

I hope it isn't a botched update. I remember how easy it was to brick the ps3 with a firmware update back in the days.

I have just avoided updating to continue playing Breakpoint. I’ll keep an eye out if more people have the same situation after updating.

edit: nope I have to update.... eek.

Meh.. Anyway is at least console automatically uploading my save files when I have PS+? I'm going to be really pissed off on a Sony if then could automatically renew my subscription on PS+, but couldn't automatically upload my save files...

Maybe you can try putting the update on a USB ,following the procedure for offline updating,and just power on .you never know it Will pick it up

I dont think they auto backup to the cloud, Sadly now youve disconnected the HDD they are as good as gone.
