Ehh, boot it via the Eject button.
Do you get a blue screen saying XeLL or XeLL reloaded, if yes then you have a hardware hacked 360.
You can play games from the internal drive.

If not, you'll need to RGH it.

if you have a NAND dump and load it into xebuild gui, it will tell you if it's a jtag or an rgh and the type. if it's modded and nothing appears with the eject button turning on the system, it's probably a flashed drive.

yeah i think it's flashed drive, it can run games from normal discs

Next find out if its 16MB or 4GB Corona

You will need some tools once you find that out
where can i see if its 16mb or 4gb corona?

what kernel is it on? microsoft reflashed drives on 13599 iirc to add support for xgd3. you had to reflash the drive once that happened, so if it doesn't read new, burned games, that might be why.

System settings under storage - If you have 4gb it will show there or take system apart and check physical nand

You are going to need

1. Way of reading nand
2. Glitch chip and way to program it (Ace 360V3 come programmed for Corona from factory)
3. Post out Fix adapter
4. Solder gun / tools etc

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
