GameStop-exclusive Fallout 76 Power Armor helmets are being recalled due to mold risk

It's been almost a year since Fallout 76 launched, seemingly to weekly controversies, as the game's microtransactions, lack of NPC's, collector's edition's bags, battle royale mode, and gameplay all managed to draw ire from the public. As players found new games to focus on, stories of Fallout 76's perceived issues began to quiet down. But now, another problem has put Fallout 76 back in the spotlight, though this time, Bethesda isn't to blame. Over at GameStop, collectable, wearable model helmets of the series' T-51b Power Armor had been sold. The helmet was similar to that of the Fallout 76 collector's edition helmet, but instead featured a red-and-white paint job, along with a different interior lining.

This interior material has resulted in all of the Gamestop-sold helmets being recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, as mold was found to be present on the inside of the product. 20,000 units were affected, though none of them are from the Fallout 76 Collector's Edition, just the red GameStop model. If you managed to purchase one of these helmets, you can contact GameStop for a full refund, and you likely should--even if the chances of many actually putting the helmet on and wearing it is slim--as the recall states that those with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs, or mold allergies are at risk.

I don't understand why anybody would support this anyways, because it's GameStop exclusive.

Same...though I suppose I don't regret it. I'm a Fallout fan to the death, even if the game's aren't remotely similar to what they used to be. The CE helmet does really look nice on a shelf though.

The helmet is really nice, but the plastic visor on mine is not see-through and need to be replaced if cosplay are going to be done with it.
I'm keeping mine still in its box deep inside my wardrobe, buried under clothes and rubble.
In an attempt to forget mistakes.

Haha

LOL! Bethesda can't get a break with this game.
It is almost like these companies need to stop rushing things out.

Did you fail to read the article.

This has nothing to do with betheasda, its gamestops exclusive helmet, nit made by bethesda.
That person didn't say it was Bethesda fault. Still, this is yet another mishap related to this game.

They should just recall everything and try again. It’s been a year now and 76 is still a complete dumpster fire experience

Meanwhile, the Chad CD Projekt Red EVISCERATES the VIRGIN Bethesda with GAMES THAT DON'T REQUIRE THE COMMUNITY TO FIX THEM, QUALITY IN A LARGER WORLD AS OPPOSED TO QUANTITY, MORE COMPELLING GAMEPLAY, HAVING A SERVICE THAT, IF IT HAD STEAM'S CATALOG, WOULD MAKE IT BETTER THAN STEAM, FACTS, LOGIC, and COMMON SENSE!

Gotta wonder what the profit margins on these were...

You can buy a poorly-ventilated Halloween mask of questionable origin for a few dollars, wear it to a party, get sweaty, spill whatever on it, throw it in a drawer and forget about it for a decade without growing danger mold
