Are you interested in a complete replacement of TwlBg which includes all patches?

Hi Robz8, I have a little doubt before starting.
In the godmode part1 procedure, after doing step 8 "Select Mount image to drive", I do not understand in step 9 which path to enter, which is the correct one?

Part 1: GodMode9

Go to SYSNAND CTRNAND.
Select title.
Select 00040138.
Select # 0000102. (# is 2 on new3DS, and 0 on old3DS)
Select content.
Select 000000 ##. App. (## represents any number.)
Select NCCH image options ....
Select Mount image to drive.
Enter path, when asked to.
Select exefs.bin
Copy to 0: / gm9 / out
Power off the console.
You just press the A button.

Oh I already have TwiMenu working already, thanks. I assume the upscaling stuff is in those links, will have a dig.

I am having a weird issue with TwiMenu though. I have my rips in a folder, but not all of them appear. I have to press R to find these titles, and there is no file setup for me to go back from this menu, anyone experienced this? Also some of my ap patched rips are saying they're not ap patched...

There's only widescreen steps.

Press L?

TWiLight Menu++ now has built-in AP-patches, so you no longer need patched ROMs.
Update TWiLight Menu++, if you haven't done so yet.

I have an older GodMode9 version, and it automatically opens the mounted image for me as soon as I press A on "Mount image to drive".
If you get confused, spam B until you're back in the main screen, go to "NCCH GAME IMAGE", and there is exefs.bin

As for the number, it's not *any* number, but the *highest* number you find. @Robz8 should fix this soon.

Yep, we've never seen that one.

And hopefully not many people did.

Does the exe not work for you?

I can't seem to unpack the twl.firm file with firmtool, i followed the tutorial, i installed python, added path etc.... After that once i try to unpack or open firmtool, the cmd window just shuts off after a second

Don't directly run the exe, you have to run the specific command in a command prompt window. It's a command line-based exe, so as soon as it stops running (which is almost immediately if you don't provide any arguments) windows closes the output window.

Don't. Dump it as a .firm from GM9, and you'll be fine.

Place the .firm next to the exe.
Deselect everything in the folder by clicking on an empty space in the folder.
SHIFT-RIGHTCLICK on an empty space in the folder, and select "Open command prompt here" or "Open PowerShell here".
Without quotes, run "move .firm section0.bin", then ".\mkpatch_b asd 1010".
It should output a lot of garbage. Because you have the command prompt still open, you can screenshot it.

It says at the bottom, "Patched TwlBg, ready to use". If you look, there is a TwlBg.cxi file created in the folder. Copy that to /luma/sysmodules/ on your 3DS's SDCard. If the sysmodules folder doesn't exist, create it. Also don't forget to enable game patching and module loading in Luma config (turn off your 3DS, and hold SELECT and press the power button).

for me it still looks way better on my dsi xl (right picture) than on my 2ds xl (left picture) with the patch applied.
the colors are washed out on the 3ds, maybe the dsi xl's screens are just better quality?
