Project Resistance teaser trailer reveals that the gameplay will be “team-based survival horror”

Prior to the game’s full reveal at Tokyo Games Show 2019, Capcom has decided to give a little tease of their new Resident Evil entry. Temporarily titled as Project Resistance, the game is classified as “team-based survival horror” with up to 4 players. The end of the trailer also shows the platforms the game will release on, which is PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. A full reveal is set for September 12th.

Anybody who was expecting this reveal to be RE3R or RE8 only have themselves to blame. The title alone was enough to give away that it was a simple spin-off, which most likely isn't disrupting development of the actual RE3R/RE8 games.

have you people never heard of resident evil outbreak 1 and 2?
Yeah. I have both and finished the,
But that has nothing to do with this.

Both Outbreaks focused on strategic player and character play to survive during each episode.
Your ammunition was scarce and every place had puzzles and riddles, akin to the original REs.

Now tell how does a horde mode with 4 characters shooting ala L4D compare to Outbreak at all?

Outbreak also had four people, so just going by the trailer it is a horde mode? No, it isn’t. This will be outbreak again, just not called outbreak.

I hope that's the case...
That's normally how it works, at least most of the time :/ One big team works on the big main game while a smaller one works on a spin off game akin to this. Development of the big game ideally shouldn't have anything to do with the other thing and vice versa.

They're probably just saving the big one for E3, if anything

I was hoping for a continuation or remake of outbreak, hell it still could turn out to be just that. We will have to wait another 2 days until tgs starts and we will see more footage..

The villain unleashing the B.O.W.s and Mr. X (wesker?) Seems to imply that it might turn out as a 4vs1 multi-player game.. Which I personally find pretty boring because it will get old very fast.. There are not enough boss enemies in the old RE games (raccoon city saga) to really fill up enough maps, scenarios with them before getting boring..

Please Capcom, let it be outbreak. I kinda think that the name right now is only wip for marketing.. Projeject Resistance is kinda lame and not enough people will be able to spot the connection to Resident Evil, you kinda can notice this already when browsing YouTube and having a look at the view counts...

Called it. It's a Left 4 Dead knock off haha
Left 4 dead knock off, you do know resident evil outbreak came out before l4d which is the knock off if you want to be politically correct.

This video shows nothing i personally didnt already know based off the images they released the other month.

Itll be like outbreak, team co op, fuck me even the title resistance just slaps you in the face.

How is L4D a knock off from Outbreak?
The two have almost zero things in common outside of the zombie enemies.
The two greatly vary in gameplay and playmodes in their entirety. Easy as that, one's an FPS, the other is a fixed camera third-person game, and that's just to state the obvious differences seen at first glance, there are still a dozen more that make them entirely different from one another.

Seriously, most people here are really hopeful for this to be an Outbreak spiritual successor or something.
If at all, this will be nothing more but a lame attempt at something like L4D or Day Z. It'd be amazed if they did something even remotely close to what Outbreak did back in the day.
Just see their previous failed attempts, Operation Raccoon City and Umbrella Corps are nothing but forgotten relics already.

Ok so you first off say this game is going to feel like a lame l4d game.

Then point out the complete differences between l4d and re.

Then go back to say if it falls short of outbreak it will be a lame l4d again.

You just completely contradicted yourself.

Other than l4d been a fps, its a team based survival zombie game.

Exactly like outbreak but its not an fps.

Exactly how this game will be.

So to call resident evil a lame l4d clone, how, when you could say l4d was a clone of outbreak but done as an fps.

you literally only saw a goddamn teaser dude, you know nothing of the gameplay, for all we know this could be the lab chapter, its plenty clear that it uses the same engine as RE2make since it reuses a shit ton of assets from it, why would it be left for the dead if it controls that slowly?
