I keep saying it if you aren't already there keep an eye on the discord, stuff is going to start happening very quick shortly
Easy now, some users might not have Discord. :P

It won't be as granular, but I will keep posting updates here until launch and beyond. ;)

Good to hear, I'm ready to purchase as soon as its available. Will you have a bundle that includes the dragon kicker too? I haven't heard too much about the kicker lately. Or was the kicker a one time run and done only, because the site says sold out. I would still like to purchase a kicker as well too, so let me know.

I full on second this! With Android, Lakka, etc, purchasing the dragon kicker as well is a must if available!!!!!
I noticed last week the hinges I had made were really loose and wouldn't work that well, so I need to reorder them. That said, the Kicker is getting reworked into something much greater, I have something really cool in the works.

I finally figured out how to fit a PCB inside the kickstand that keeps it the same size but allows actual MicroSD card slots to be used. These should feel a lot nicer than plastic, but, I took it a step further, and now you can have a ribbon cable going from the back of the kickstand inside the Switch to a little board that replaces your OEM MicroSD PCB, and instead a little slide switch pokes out of the old MicroSD card slot, letting you pick a MicroSD card by sliding the switch instead of actually swapping card.

Then, I took this a step further with the dual/triple NAND boards I'm making. Another little ribbon cable goes from the new MicroSD board to the dual NAND board. When you move the slide switch, it also changes the NAND. In this way, you can have either two or three NAND chips, each with their own dedicated MicroSD card, all controlled with that switch. Obviously the console should be off when doing this, but the hope is that we can switch between OFW NAND, CFW NAND, and Android/Linux NAND with a slide switch, and each will have a dedicated MicroSD card. When a NAND/MicroSD is not selected, it's powered off and completely invisible to the active NAND/MicroSD.

I already have a MicroSD to NAND adapter made that simplifies cloning OEM NAND. Combined with a custom payload which can do all the cloning/anonymizing/step by step instructions right on the console, I hope to have an easy to set up, safe and quick way to have CFW, OFW and Android all on your Switch.

There will also be pads for internal modchips to make use of to switch active NAND/MicroSD, for whatever crazy things other modders think of. :P

Still got a lot of work to do on it but looking promising so far. As far as ETA, it's done when it's done. Learned my lesson regarding time estimates. ;)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Should mention that the kickstand + kickstand board will fit in a stock Switch no problem. The dual/triple NAND requires removal or trimming of the heat shield though.

Holy carp man, this goes above and beyond anyone else's existing solution out there. I've heard people talk about possible "Dual-NAND" solutions for a while, but if you had told me last year that one day there'd be a solution involving a single switch that would simultaneously switch between NANDs and MicroSD cards, I would have said you're out of your mind. And you are, you're like some evil mad Switch scientist, coming up with stuff like this!

And seriously, I've been watching this project since the beginning, even though I'm not very active in the discord. You have been non-stop working towards perfecting your solution, long after most other companies would have released what they had, only to come out with a "Revision 2" six months later. Your dedication to build quality is unheard of, I have no doubt that these DragonInjectors will be more sturdy and feel more like a finished product than a lot of other third party hardware that we've seen in "scene" history. Certainly a lot better than the old R4 or M3 NDS flash carts.

Seriously, major props to you. You have single-handedly designed and engineered an amazing product, with even more to come. You're tackling projects that full teams haven't come up with. Whatever you get paid at work isn't enough, if the DragonInjector is everything I think it is you've done the work of at least 4 people in creating it. Kudos, I look forward to anything you come up with in the future.

Thanks man, that really means a lot! It's definitely been a long time coming, I only hope the DragonInjector lives up to everyone's expectations. ^_^

It's funny, despite the hundreds of hours I've put into the project, all the revisions and tweaks and everything, and even though release is right around the corner, I feel like I'm just getting started in the modding community and with open source projects in general. This first project has taught me what's actually possible with elbow grease and stubbornness, and I really feel like it would be a waste to not take everything I've learned and put it towards some of the other crazy ideas floating around in my head. Also, building something from the ground up with feedback and help from the community is super rewarding and just makes it that much more addicting.

All 28 tester units are going out this week, and I've taken next week off so I can get the other 500 finished and sent off to the store. Just playing around with the tester units, all the little things I fussed with for hours like the snap fit of the jig and the cap, and the adjustments to my printing workflow for better quality prints, it all seems really worth it now. Image of some of the tester units attached, just have to put the copper sticker in them. :P

Hearing that you are simply going to keep testing yourself and apply yourself to the fullest towards your passion is EXACTLY why I have enjoyed this project immensely even before having the product in hand. I have ACTUALLY enjoyed reading the progress and feel beyond excited to be a part of this! I would be lying if I said I didn't agree that this is just your beginning, and id be lying to say I wasn't beyond ecstatic to watch you grow and potentially learn myself!!! At long last I joined the Discord server, I'll be seeing you guys shortly over there!

This DI battery seems like a bitch to get hold of. Expensive.
Found out this week I can ship non-rechargeable coin cells, even via air, via Canada Post as long as they're sealed inside the equipment. I'm going to ask my fulfillment company if they can as well.

I already have a source for bulk Panasonic CR1612. If fulfillment is okay with it, I may be able to ship them with the DI for about $3 USD.

This would be an all or nothing thing though since they won't install them for me. Either they all come with one, or none of them do

Excellent idea here! Mad props for putting all this into action! Thanks for all your time and energy that put into the dragon project. Keep up the good work my man!

So there is going to be another small price bump from this post ($3, making it $28USD). What this means however is your DragonInjector will come with the battery already installed and ready to go

As @Adran_Marit noted above, the response to including a battery pre-installed for an additional $3 USD was pretty one-sided, and as such I will be including one and bringing the price up to $28 USD. This means the DI will work out of the box and should help get rid of the headache of finding batteries. :)
