So the redboxed Switches (Markio) have been out now for about a month.

I'm curious, how is it treating you? Do you enjoy the better battery life? Have the fan sucked in your cat? Is it any difference in screen quality? Is it a recommended buy?
This is a open discussion thread about the new Swtiches!

There's huge variation in screens on all Switch models, individual testimonies won't count for much on that point. You can check Erika Griffon's youtube or twitter, she's bought a ton of Switches (including red boxes) and run colorometers on them to arrive at that conclusion.

My impressions, better battery life, of course.

Mine has a better screen in comparison to the few other Switch units I have laying around

It feels a bit lighter than my others, but I guess that could be subjective.

Well worth the price of entry in my opinion.

I’m keeping mine on 7.0.1, but I was still able to do a bit of testing ;). Battery life is significantly improved, after playing Super Mario Odyssey with auto brightness in a somewhat dark room for around 1 1/2 hours I still had 73% battery (on and old system I’d probably have around 50%). At least in handheld temps are about the same after playing for awhile, but it does take alot longer to get to that temperature and the fan is a lot quieter. The screen looks identical to old ones that have Innolux screens, and is inferior to the JDI screens in launch systems. Performance is practically identical. Build quality is identical and both systems look and feel the same. Overall, it’s a great system :)
