No its the original
The other time I saw it mentioned was with a Pokemon Let's Go limited edition console. Which are all supposed to be ipatched. That guy got super lucky.
Guess it could happen with any (OG model) edition. All the tablets have the same design, the only thing that changes are the JoyCons and dock, and I guess they have to get rid of old stock somehow.

Just chiming in with my experience on this...

I also bought a brand new grey switch (on amazon) a few days ago and it came on 6.2.0. The serial number was the exact same as this one but the last 3 digits being a little lower than the switch mentioned here. I checked the serial number using IsMySwitchPatched.com and it told me that it was of course patched. I was disappointed but then after seeing this thread, I tried my luck and bought a jig with no expectations of it working. I injected the payload using TegraRcm and long behold it was exploitable! :D

I now have emuMMC fully setup running Atmosphere 0.9.3 with just one issue... When I try to install anything through the hbAppStore, the switch crashes and I get a 2168-002 error code. Other than that, all is running perfectly fine but if someone could help me out with this I'd greatly appreciate it! :)

Makio devices come with version 8.1.0 so they should definitely be patched.
Intresting that these 6.2.0 versions are unpatched. But hey! Why not :D

Awesome! Glad you found out your switch was vulnerable! :D

Thought I'd post a lil update.

My friend bought a brand new switch also from amazon with the serial number of XAJ4008292 and it also came on 6.2.0. Upon entering RCM he got a 0x0000 byte setup request with a black screen meaning it was of course patched.

I think I was very lucky as maybe now they're shipping the newer boards that are patched?

Who knows...

this thread got me excited! i just bought a switch, on firmware 6.2, serial number also starting with XAJ4. But i don't have a jig, what a bummer. oh whatever I'll just wait for new deja vu exploit instead.

too scared to do that. and i have been reading deja vu method this past few days, i think i should just stick with it. except, if i accidentally updated to 8.1 then i might buy a jig just to test my luck.
Try the paperclip its what I used to do, just make sure you get a paperclip that is metal not the ones that put a bunch of plastic around it, but usually with those you can tear off the plastic coating.

I wouldn't see why Nintendo would do that to be honest. It wouldn't make any sense from an anti-piracy perspective.

Actually makes lots of sense they defenetly have unpached boards on stock who knows how many when they started shipping the patched ones these were left and now they sell them thinking most ppl wont even check cause of serial number and year anyway they will want to sell all available stock they have i've also seen posts ppl saying XAJ70065 and XAJ40047 or something like it and the local store here all that show as possibly patched end up been unpached
They must be shipping unpached units with patched ones like they was doing it before nothing new

I do not use appstore. I prefer to install my homebrew apps manually. can you do homebrew install manually and have them working?
also can you try to boot up hbmenu by one of your games? press and hold R and tap one of your games and hbmenu will open with full RAM.

This is just a case of a nintendo worker forgetting to flash an old vulnerable board before refurbing into a new shell.

If you can be arsed and i dont blame you uf you cant, god knows i couldnt, but checking the board revision might tell you when it wad made see if it matches the 2019 stamp on the case.

Thanks for the help, I fixed this just by using the application version of hbmenu :)

Yeah it seems like they sometimes have old stock that are shipped with new serial numbers. Not the first report I've heard of this.
It’s a newer board, the new bis key generation it uses wasn’t introduced until after FG patched consoles released
