mine is not patched, and it's a refurbished from nintendo. it starts with XAW1. though, I got this unit last November.

If it's unpatched (green), then you can hack the console on any firmware.

So I am planning to buy a used Switch to get CFW. I contacted the seller and asked for the serial number. As a noob with this stuff, I was wondering if:

1. XAW7000656 is unpatched?
2. Buying a used Switch that was used for at lwast a year is worh it?

I ask because of two questions:

1: Serial number collection and privacy reasons
2: This site can be turned into a app where you take a of the bar code (which is the serial number) and it checks against the database. Much faster than inputing it manually.

If you‘re concerned about the privacy read the first post here and check yourself. Also you don’t need to enter the last 4 digits of the serial number.

It’s possibly patched, if it’s not patched the firmware doesn’t matter much, if it is patched firmware is very important and you’re likely never going to be able to hack that console

You are sure it is XKJ4 and not XAJ4?

Okay, so here's the idea with my Switch (which I picked up last December)

The SN is: XAW1008619xxxx
Current firmware: 8.1.0 (if that matters; I've been reading that it..kinda doesn't?)

I also haven't found another one on the internet whose SN starts with XKJ400099xxxx :-(
