Well, tell that to Lenovo who I was badgering persistently over the past 2 weeks.

You are wrong. It does not always work.
No, not always, obviously. With that said, the power of persuasion can get you a lot, as long as you are connected to a person with enough pull in the company to do something about your query. The customer service reps on the phones are just meatshields that are there to take the brunt of the shouting and rebuff demands, talking to them is usually a waste of time. It's a sad state of affairs, but that's how it works.

I'm not making a judgement call on whether the guy who was initially told about "the program" is lying or not - I wasn't part of the conversation. What I'm saying is that in those edge cases magical "programs" people suddenly "qualify" for are not uncommon.

Quick question: Is anyone willingly handing over their priceless non-patched switch for the new model with the extra tweaks and such?

Mariko consoles are a better than Launch-switches except the bootrom bug. Yes, its futuresave for CFW-Users. I would trade it nevertheless.

I'm not particularly interested in the battery life gains as much as I'm interested in the presumably smaller process node which brings a slew of other advantages besides power consumption. The consoles will be more durable and have better thermal characteristics, I wouldn't trade my launch model since the nature of its vulnerability allows for more freedom than other exploits do, and this will remain the case for a long time.
