Thank you for letting me know, guess he's going to have to wait until it's exploited. I'd probably maybe give it 6 months. Worse part is I told him to get a used one.

They aren't gonna be exploited any time in the near future :/ (they use a new bootrom designed for increased Stability(tm)). Is it too late yet for him to return it and buy a used one?

If that's the case I'm going to go with the 8.1.0 firmware since that one is in better physical condition lol.

You can hack an unpatched one on any firmware.
