Dont use duct tape.
You can replace it, it uses a .5mm pitch 4pin ffc connectors.

then you can just give up om your 3ds cause duct tape will not help you out nor wil it fix your connector.

and i'm not gonna help you with any other problems if you be this ignorant.
a good enough for this job (about any iron that get's more then 300 degree's celcius is) solder iron goes around for less then 10 bucks you can even get a weller branded version if you'll look for it.
Funfact: It did... I put the flex cable in and put a small piece of tape over it...
(And no im not joking. Im 15 and have no idea about soldering. And i have no one that could help me with that. Maybe i learn soldering someday but not now.)

depending of the country you are on, you can get it fixed quite easily, you will need a hot air gun, some flux and tweezers

You don't need to replace the entire connector when the locking piece breaks off you can put it back on or buy a new one
I know but I thought it would be useful for other people finding this because everyone else said to replace the entire connector
