Are you interested in a complete replacement of TwlBg which includes all patches?

I know the first 4 letters are the game code, but what do the numbers mean at the end of the widescreen patches?

@Robz8 Here's some photos. Pic1 is the normal behavior when widescreen patch is loaded properly. Pic2&3 are the ones with "Streched" widescreens as described in my first reply.

Hi @Robz8 I noticed that TWiLight Menu will automatically copy Widescreen.cxi to luma/sysmodules and rename it. But after exiting the game the patch will stay in /sysmodules, and it will cause everything running in DS mode to be STRECHED to wide-screen, not expanding. Even when launching compatible games in TWiLight Menu it only streches the screen to force 16:10. I have to move the TwlBg.cxi back to the /TwlBg folder, rename it and reboot my 3ds to make the widescreen hack work again.
Did you install both latest TWLMenu++ CIAs using FBI?

Ok, @Robz8 , I don't want to bother you with this any longer. I'm starting to think that it's my 3DS that is at fault. I changed my SD card and it still showed that stupid error message. Thanks for the help.

The updater currently doesn't update TWLMenu++ correctly.
Please install the latest version manually.

Just noticed that there's a new release on the Menu. I'll try updating this one manually.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the 3DS version of the patcher (aka the .cia that can be installed to/used via the home menu) in comparison to the PC patcher that was released yesterday.

After all, the 2DS systems are part of the 3DS family.

Ah, yes that's it, thanks.

For a moment I thought that since the 3DS can kind of display two images at once something weird could be done with it, lol.

Why are quoting the same reply twice, lol?

For some reason Tapatalk is duplicating the quote the moment I press send, so I have to quickly edit it out the second after it's published. Honestly I thought nobody would notice but it seems all my efforts were in vain

(For Robz8) Don't know where I should post this but if it is in the wrong place just tell me. I got the wide screen hack to work for ds games in twilight menu++ but for some reason there is a permanent display of hex values on the right side of the screen. I however did not see this issue in the demo video. Is there a way to turn this off? Also basically all the games I tried worked in wide screen. I know your readme list just said those specific games are supported. But i found much more than those ones worked. Even more unpopular games like Mario and Luigi Partners in Time. Just wanted you to know this.

@LinusRG OK, you've got two issues here, so first I'll address the permanent hex values. That sounds like you've made a mistake in the patching process. You've apparently enabled the trainer, either because you specifically chose it or because you ran the patcher without specifying which patches you wanted at all (e.g. by double clicking). You will need to redo your patching and patch with "1010" (one, zero, one, zero) as the TWLMenu++ instructions dictate.

As for the second thing, what you're describing as "much more games working in widescreen" is a) not widescreen and b) not the correct behavior. TWLMenu++ is supposed to switch the 384-wide scaling on and off, but yours is just leaving it permanently on. This may be because you haven't updated your Game Booter CIA from the latest TWLMenu++ download, as that CIA is responsible for disabling the scaling for games which don't have a widescreen hack.

The games you're describing which aren't on the list are not actually running in widescreen, they're just being stretched out to fill the screen, which isn't the same thing. TWLMenu++ is set up to avoid stretching games and only display them in widescreen if the game has a widescreen hack available.
