there is no way. there used to be a blaster thing that would sit on the hdd cradle. it could flash via usb (I think), but you had to open up the system to install it, which kinda defeats the purpose.

Due to how the hardware is designed on the 360 and the security structure, NO not possible, the only SOFTMOD was the King Kong or really the 4532 syscall exploit which required you'd to still have a flashed dvd drive, that was patched in 4552, they patched king Kong, but not the syscall exploit, jtag was the the replacement (which is kinda both a soft and hard mod again due to how the hardware works) since the syscall exploit essentially is in the second stage bootloader (2bl) this was not updated from 4532 to 7371, your dashboard version (CF lockdown) are signed using the cpu key which is why you could downgrade between these dashes, once dash 2.8955.xx came out they updated the 2bl which also has its own lock down counter, but this value is not signed using your cpu key, it uses Microsofts private key, and if we knew this key then jtag and rgh would be going around your ass to get to your elbow, so once they update the bootloader you cannot downgrade it, as this is the lowest version you would be able to downgrade to. This is how rgh works, rgh is the exploit that does exactly what we want, it allows youto bypass your lock down values, rgh still runs a modified 8955 dashboard that boots using the 4532 kernel iirc to use the syscall exploit. The 360 is specifically designed against softmodding from the cpu die up.

Tldr all 360 exploits rely on booting in some form of 4532 based kernel to run usigned code, the only reason homebrew existed is because of a extremely subtle flaw in programming that was introduced in this kernel and never again since appeared, rgh is the exploit that is the "downgrade" everyone hoped for, it still uses the 4532 syscall exploit by allowing you to bypass your lockdown values.

Really the softmod for the 360 would be the leaking of the private signing key like ps3

I heard from @brickmii82 , that the blaster no longer works. this was for phats btw. there were two boards iirc, you had to put in your system and snake a few wires through to the hdd cradle. no soldering involved. I did this to one system I had. discs worked without a problem going through those two boards, but I never got a chance to try flashing new firmware on it. I had already flashed the firmware when I opened up the system. it was a pos xenon that failed before I had a chance. I pitched the system.

You are referring to the king Kong exploit, you could load homebrew code via a serial port and then later from CD/dvd, you had to solder a cable to the 360 serial debug port, that or an xk3y

no, this was just for flashing the drive. I don't think I was on low enough firmware for the king kong exploit.

Yeah that's just a kit to reflash DVD drive firmware without having to dissassemble the console, you can still mod games if you have a flashed DVD drive or do a disc swap install, though only games that can be iso modded like waw zombies

Only way to be able to get modded apps is to bypass the Xbox 360 sign-in using burpsuite so it won't check if your using modified apps then it wont check if the apps has beean updated then you can use old apps like the old internet browser online without actually being on Xbox live and updating to the latest version of the app

No, if you can't understand that the 360 cannot be softmodded because Microsoft designed the console down to the transistor on the cpu silicon die to prevent softmodding, the boot structure and code execution is locked down completely, all exploits use the old 4532 kernel because Microsoft fucked it when programming it, they never fucked up again after that. You either jtag it, or use rgh which essentially boots the stock kernel downgrades to a 4532 kernel, then uses the syscall exploit to execute a rebooter to boot into whatever dash
