So, I've been having weird standby issues lately, screensaver issues too, seemingly at random with Windows 10. So, like, it will go into screensaver, then the monitor will go into standby after set time, like it should. However, it seems to be exiting out of standby for no apparent reason.

So I ran the following command:

powercfg -devicequery wake_armed
powercfg -devicequery -wake_any_device
powercfg /energy

and also

powercfg -requests

and apparently, my Realtek sound card as well as my USB headset is overriding the computer to prevent the monitor from going to sleep. Or so I'm to assume.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg -requests
DISPLAY:
None.

SYSTEM:
[DRIVER] Realtek High Definition Audio (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_1462D845&REV_1000\4&1c6dce70&0&0001)
An audio stream is currently in use.
[DRIVER] USB Audio Device (USB\VID_0951&PID_16A4&MI_00\6&3321d09b&0&0000)
An audio stream is currently in use.

AWAYMODE:
None.

EXECUTION:
None.

PERFBOOST:
None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN:
None.

I've tried updating drivers for both, no avail, as it says "I have the most updated drivers" or some crap like that. My USB headset is a HyperX Cloud 2, currently on firmware 0030, and the website isn't much help, as the latest firmware is 0010. Realtek isn't much help either, as the latest drivers is from late 2017, so yeah, I can't do much about that. What bothers me, is the fact that it used to go in and out of standby on its own just fine up until recently, and I can't seem to figure out what's going on.

I even ran DISM commands to make sure my Windows image wasn't corrupt, it isn't, it's clean. Ran virus scans, malware scans, nada, so I'm truly baffled. But also my keyboard has three HID Keyboard entries and my mouse has two, one of which says "failed to integrate" which may be the reason why. I recently swapped a wireless mouse for a Logitech G402, which it the very entry device manager says failed to migrate. Maybe I have to uninstall both HID entries, then reinstall the mouse, I don't know. But I believe that to be when it all began back on July 29th when I got the mouse. I don't know what the hell is going on, and it's just weird, a monitor just doesn't simply enter standby only for it to be woken up by something.

Oh cool, I didn't know you could use powercfg like that to find out what is waking your computer. That is good to know! I had simular issue like you described, however I already knew what was causing it as that was the last piece hardware that I installed when it started doing that, and that hardware was a multi card reader/writer, like the one that is used to read and write to an SD card among other memory cards. Man that was a long time ago. To fix that problem, I simply disabled the reader/writer in device manager and enable it only when I need to use it, and after finish using it I would disable it again. This is not feasible for you though as that is your sound card. I'm curious though is it USB based sound card?

After some testing, it seems to be random. Either that, or my antivirus scans are keeping it up, most of the time it does indeed go into standby after going into screensaver. I mean, if I had money for a dedicated sound card, believe me, I'd have one. Integrated is nice for most things, but if it's really causing this, then I'm going to have to save up for a decent card.

So it does go to standby sometimes. Does your driver have a power management tab? Although I don't know what AV you're using, but I used and still do use Nortion Internet Security, and that didn't seem to interfere with the sleep cycle. I'm not sure but if it does, you could uncheck the box to wake the computer. I also should have mentioned that I didn't use a screensaver on the problem computer and still don't on my latest one. I just have it turn off the screen (basically the screen goes black) after a set of time. This saves on CPU resources.
I'm wondering if your computer support certain sleep states that perhaps the AV or the hardware doesn't support? I think they're 5 different sleep states if I am not mistaking Actually the fifth one doesn't really count as a sleep state as that is basically powering down the computer.

Norton Antivirus, it's free via my ISP, and I hate McAfee as it's pure garbage in my opinion. It's like, there are two audio streams when I use powercfg. It's baffling. I did check, and it doesn't help, I'll likely need a discrete sound card.
