Following in Pokemon Sun and Moon's footsteps, Pokemon Sword and Shield will be offering new takes on classic Pokemon. Certain old favorites will have brand-new Galarian forms, such as Zigzagoon and Koffing. Galarian Linoone even has a new evolution: the dark/normal Obstagoon. There's also a new Pokemon who changes form in battle, called Morpeko. And as with every Pokemon region, you have to have a rival, or in this case, two, with Game Freak revealing Marnie and Bede as Sword and Shield's set of rivals who will occasionally challenge you throughout your journey. At the end of the trailer, we see the evil team operating in Galar, which is the punkish Team Yell. Pokemon Sword and Shield launch on the Switch on November 15th.

i can just imagine team skull/team yell being bitter rivals i would be cracking up if i see a skull grunt challenge a team yell grunt to a song battle even though team skull were just small time theives i wonder what team yells objective are? guess we'll wait and see

No, it is not. I'm genuinely curious if a staff member of the game actually posted this on a forum somewhere or told a friend and they posted it on Twitter or something in that realm.

If they did that, not only the game would be delayed for more than a year, it would also need to use a bigger game card and so be more expensive.

This is also Nintendo screwing themselves over for giving the basic Switch model only 32 GB of space.

Unlike Microsoft and Sony, they can't just have a single game download like 40 gb of data into the console.

Delaying the game would be a good thing. They need to release a good product, not a rushed one with not a ton of content.

It doesn’t need to come from the developers themselves to know that a game is being rushed. There is plenty of evidence that the game is being rushed out for Christmas. Best case scenario is they release a patch with all the Pokémon before Home releases

This post is wrong on so many levels.... It would not take over a year to add back all the Pokemon, and it wouldn't make the game over 32GB (USUM is not even 4GB and has over 1000 Pokemon models)

You mean stretching the model? Of course not, it's using outdated tech, the processor wouldnt be able to. However it did have every Pokémon in the game, so processing AND storage isn't an issue

seriously with all the videos demonstrating the the 3d models in the previous pokemon vs sword & shield, other cut corners etc.

not to mention the fact if hypothetically there was a ton of work needed (already debunked but devils advocate) like other games they could push patches/DLC over time if they didnt want to delay.

by outright refusing to do the right thing and allowing the customer to follow through with the core tenant of the franchise "gotta catch 'em all" they are basically asking for this game to be pirated

I like Obstagoon myself. That Galarians Weezing takes the cake though. Never liked koffing/weezing, but now this will change.
