nintendo switch boots hekate but it doesnt boot reinx or atmosphere. I can dump my keys etc but Reinx either freezes or just flickers and goes dark. I got this switch as a banned unit over ebay for 60 bucks so i figured it may allow homebrew on it. does this mean its possibly pathced? Atmosphere also only momentarily flickers. I checked the setup on my other switch with the same sd card and that one boots reinx just fine. This one is on firmware 8.0.1 though. Am i missing a step here?
i checked and it appears as possibly patched on the website.

If you can boot Hekate from RCM, then the Switch definitely is not patched.

If your Switch boots normally without using RCM, check to make sure your SD card is formatted as FAT32. If it's formatted as exFAT, your Switch might be missing exFAT support, and you will either need to format the SD card as FAT32 or use ChoiDujourNX to install exFAT support (temporarily using another SD card that is formatted as FAT32). Edit: FAT32 is recommended regardless.

If formatting your SD card as FAT32 doesn't work, follow these steps:
  1. Make a NAND backup with Hekate if you haven't already. Store it somewhere safe. You technically only need eMMC SYS and BOOT0/1, but this will not preserve save files and games installed to the internal storage. For a complete backup, you need eMMC RAW and BOOT0/1.
  2. Remove all CFW files/folders from your SD card (that would be folders like /sept/ and /atmosphere/)
  3. Download the latest Atmosphere from GitHub (currently 0.9.2)
  4. Download the latest fusee-primary (next to Atmosphere)
  5. Download these signature patches
  6. Put Atmosphere and the signature patches onto your SD card
  7. Put the SD into your Switch
  8. Launch Atmosphere using fusee-primary

Thanks Lacius. I was stuck with no boot. Your post saved my life - and my switch! Have a lovely day! :)
