Hello,

I'm kinda new to homebrew (except for the Wii, there I installed it to play games from an usb stick), so I'm wondering why should I install homebrew if I also have a ttdsi flashcard? I mean yeah I would like to run games from the start menu, just because it looks better and probably saves a little bit of time... But the flash card does the job as well... Anybody who can tell me the advantages of homebrew over flashcards? And what would you recommend me to do?

Thanks in advance!

Well, mostly because that way you can install homebrew and play any DS and DSi game rom you want.

An unhacked DSi comes with 256 MB of built-in flash memory storage for downloadable games and content. It can also accept SD cards up to 4GB in size for storing games but they cannot be played off of one.

I dunno if hacked DSis can run games from SD cards?

You can run games from the sd via nds-bootstrap

You can run DS cartridges from NDS-Bootstrap, which has a few advantages over flashcards:

- Certain compatible ROMs are loaded into RAM, allowing for load times to be faster than even normal cartridges
- You can expand the VRAM memory bus to 32-bit
- Utilize the DSi's additional CPU speed
- Enhance your audio with 48khz.
- Use DSi mode, allowing for DSi features
- Using certain cartridges, you are able to use IR in your application

You can also run DSi homebrew
