Uhm, sorry for bursting the bubble, but not only vWii on Wii U shows an inferior picture compared to using the original Wii, but using HDMI on Wii U is... Actually inferior to using a component cable.
vWii's picture is zoomed in and blurry compared to using a Wii (even an early Wii without the 480p fix) among other issues, and using HDMI on Wii U offers more washed out colors compared to using Component cables. Here's an example.

What 480p fix are you referring to? I have a launch Wii and component cables.
You can set your Wii U to 480p and let your TV handle the upscaling.
Hi, I bought a wii2hdmi and its flickering non stop but when I switch to 480i or 576i it goes away. This is my 3rd time buying the 2nd one doesn't flicker but the sound is blown out and noticable diagonal lines scrolling around the screen and picture is somewhat redish compared to my new one which the picture is better but its flickering. Is it the adapter itself or is there any way to fix this?
try a replacement HDMI cable - Mine personally works fine. Think I amazon or eBay years back
I tried different hdmi cables and its still flickering on a 55' 4k tv but when plugged
on a 50' 1080p tv the flickering is gone. Maybe the adapter itself is the problem cause it was 2$ I will buy another one I found neoteck wii2hdmi hopefully this is my last attempt
I use one and I think, being a chinese knockoff adapter the experience of people can vary greatly.
For the most part, the image is the same as component and the Wii U retrocompatibility but slightly darker.
Being displayed in a digital setting instead of analog kills the "color bleed' effect that happens when using analog cables. Even with good quality component cables, the image is not pixel-sharp, especially with vivid tones of red green, blue and white, the color tends to "escape a little" outside it was supposed to.
This is the only advantage of the adapter and it is not caused by itself it is just a consequence of using digital standards, the image is slightly darker but you can achieve this with component by reducing the contrast levels on your TV.
The audio is fine, problem is that it is a little louder than I like.
I use it for two reasons, my TV only has one component port which is currently being used by the PS2 and although it is a cheap knockoff adapter, the response times are quite nice. My TV is ok for analog gaming, but Rhythm Heaven Fever is completely impossible to play on it because it requires the absolute perfect precision and the game for some reason lacks a lag compensation setting, which is completely dumb and I can play this game using the Wii U RC or the wii with wii2hdmi adapter.

Used to have one. Color does get washed out, and the audio port is easy to break, but it works fine if you need hdmi connectivity.
