Yeah but had their switch touched the internet at all before that point?

Some will sell you horror stories like “you for certain will get banned” others will contradict like “no i did this and that still no ban”

Butt what i like to know is when someone says “you’re flagged” or “likely to get banned”. I mean based on what why not insta-banned, like if i’am going online tonight on my emunand and connect to nintendo servers i will be insta-banned I presume (not flagged), because this scenario happened to someone i know.

So how do we know for sure there is a flag system when there’re also people who get insta-banned?

I personally do not believe in insta-bans. What I think people perceive as insta-bans are moments where they forgot they connected to the Internet while running CFW/homebrew.

Well I’m a week in now not using any custom firmware and so far so good. I’ve
A managed to get Mario Kart 8, Breathe of the wild and Mario odyssey for £50 in total for all three (bargain). I’ve made use of the Nintendo online features as well as making dlc purchases.

I’m glad to be back to normal now. I did play games on SXOS but I found that I was downloading games for a catalogue I guess more than anything.

Realistically there are about 15 games that are out which I would actually play and am happy to pay for. Also means I’m not forever connecting to my PC to swap games and home brew etc.

Status: Legit SYSNAND and ATMO-CFW Emummc

When Emummc first came out a few weeks ago, I backed up my SYSNAND, which I was currently using for CFW only, with incognito enabled. I DD'd the backup to a new partition for use with Emummc, and restored my clean NAND backup to SYSNAND. I booted normally and updated my clean NAND legitimately, and was able to play tetris 99 and I have since bought Mario Maker 2 and can play online with no problems. I turned off the internet and made a new back-up of the current clean SYSNAND just in case. After, I tried booting via RCM into emummc. Fortunately, I didn't make any mistakes in the configuration so it booted up correctly into Emummc. If I failed, and it booted into SYSNAND via RCM, I would be forced to re-restore the clean NAND. I have been using Hekate to triple boot between Atmosphere CFW, L4T and Lakka. I am patiently awaiting an Android build. I can boot into the switch normally (No-jig, AutoRCM disabled) into ofw. I have been playing online legitimately on SYSNAND, and playing CFW on Emummc ever since the inception of m4w's Emummc.

I think there's no point at all in restoring that sysNAND backup if you boot through Hekate, as far as we know, Hekate and RCM are not detectable for Nintendo, because Heakte is a bootloader, and Nintendo only checks if you have modified the console firmware (HorizonOS). Moreover, if you go online with your sysNAND after doing that backup and then you restore that "old" backup you will create an inconsistency in your logs, what will end up in your console being banned. (Sorry if my English is not so good)

I've heard that there are logs indicating how the system is booted, and that upon leaving RCM, Hekate may cause a record of fusee-secondary (for example) being used. I've heard nothing that gives me certainty either way, so I would rather err on the side of caution.

Moreover, if you go online with your sysNAND after doing that backup and then you restore that "old" backup you will create an inconsistency in your logs

This is correct, which is the second reason I mentioned that I disabled the internet connection before making a fresh NAND backup, just in case something went wrong. Anytime I do any major system revisions revolving around CFW and/or partitioning, I once again, disable internet with SYSNAND and make a fresh backup.

Well, I had no idea about that, but I'm sure that we will know more about this when people with iPatched units starts going online with clean emuMMCs, as it's their only way of going online if they want to keep their console in a firmware compatible with PegaScape

No that would be silly and potentially illegal because your friends do not know if your console is hacked and therefore would be unfair for them to be banned for something they had no influence or knowledge on.

i see. was worried because i was backreading and saw someone with their friend banned because they "played with a hacker". but that's online so i wondered if playing local would send the same telemetry to nintendo.

So is it safe to use Atmos emunand now alongside legit firmware? Lost my hacked Switch and thinking of using emunand on my legit one. Can I install NSPs and everything, won't nintendo detect that on the SD card?

Should be fine since no one was banned for using SX OS emuNAND which is pretty much the same thing as Atmosphere's emuNAND.

hello all. i was just recently banned. it's a shame cause i feel like i made it awhile before this actually happened.
anyways my first question is, i purchased the DLC fighters pass for smash bros so does mean that me being banned that i wont receive the new fighters when theyre released?
and also i cant really find a clear answer to this either, will i still be able to update my games due to my recent ban?
ive read yes and then ive read that nintendo changed that and that you cant now.
any help is greatly appreciated guys, im super bummed out

I've been told that it is safe to use Atmosphere for homebrews (save file editor and a couple of emulators) only. I.e. if you load Atmo and do not install any NSPs you should be safe going online and playing legitimately purchased titles.

Is this true?
