NUT GUI USB and Network installer for Tinfoil and SX Installer

Easiest way is to just download nut.exe to the directory where your NSP's are, and start it. Will install NSP's from your PC to the switch via USB or network connection. The games will show up on the switch (in the "new games" section) to install, the PC client is just a dumb server. Default username and password is guest/guest for network install.

# USB Install

Run server.py or Windows users can use the precompiled nut.exe in the release section.

Follow the directions found in the release page to install the USB driver.

After you run the server, ensure NSP's are visible in the list. If they are not, change the path and click the "scan" button.

Connect your USB cable from your switch to your PC.

Start Tinfoil or SX Installer, and all of the NSP's listed in nut server should now be available to install in Tinfoil or SX Installer.

# Network Install

Run server.py or Windows users can use the precompiled nut.exe in the release section.

After you run the server, ensure NSP's are visible in the list. If they are not, change the path and click the "scan" button.

Start Tinfoil or SX Installer, then go to locations, then select "Add New" location. Enter the ip, port, username, and password that is displayed in the nut server application, then press save.

All of the NSP's listed in nut server should now be available to install in Tinfoil or SX Installer.

Edit:Solved
You know, that's not very good form. What if someone was having a similar problem as you? It would be polite to edit your post with whatever solution you found. Even if you think it might make you look bad it's okay, we all make dumb mistakes and should help each other avoid them.

You're generally right, but in this case it was a problem that was outside the software in question, completely different (bad emunand installation) and I only realized it later.
Leaving the post with my mistaken observation (and assumptions) about the bootloader or tinfoil would only confuse and lead other users off-road..

Thank you, blawar. That did the trick. Not sure how I missed that piece but it sure simplified things. I kept thinking I had to see them listed in the nutserver window.

Thanks for the helpful history here. I got XCIs to display as well, however they are VERY slow to read the directory. the server.py output shows routing, routing to get download, then ranged request messages that repeat over and over with different ranges.

Is this slow load of XCI expected? My list is short but it takes very long compared to the almost instant NSP load into tinfoil with very little happening with the server.py output.

for my setup I put my XCI files in a directory, then in tinfoil, set nutfs with the same ports and user/pass as I did for nut and for directory pointed it to my XCI directory.

Thanks

You have to set the scan location to be where your NSP files are located.

I have have just looked at the nut dos window and for the nsp file its saying,

An error occurred processing file: NSP no titleId set

is there a way to override this?
