PC release for Red Dead Redemption 2 possibly hinted at in Social Club app code

RD2.jpg

After months of speculation and assumptions, we finally have some hard evidence that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be making its way over to PC soon. Twitter user 'JakoMako51' and others have found references to RDR2's PC port buried within the code of Rockstar's Social Club app. It's still unclear whether it will be exclusive to any one launcher-storefront, or perhaps even exclusive to Rockstar's own Social Club. There's also no mention of a release date to be found here, but for now, holdouts waiting for higher frame rates and more detailed graphics settings will just have to take solace knowing that the game is indeed coming to their platform of choice.

Sounds about right. It took GTA V something like 2 years to get a PC port, so I'm sure RDR2 is the same. I expect an announcement soon and a release date of early 2020 or something.
I don't think GTAV is a port from a console. I mean GTAV runs nice on decent GPU's.

I hope RDR2 will be as optimised as GTAV or better but RDR2 doesn't have many stuff on-screen as GTA has. I'll buy it for both story mode and online for pc.

The PC version will surely come but I don't think so fast. As you know Take2 they surely want to cash in with the Next Gen version again. I guess 2021-2020 after Sony released the PS5.

Wasn't stuff like this found back when game released within the companion app for RDR2? Things mentioning graphics settings and VR options.

I'm not sure. Were there any mentions of PC specifically? Because graphics settings could potentially refer to PS4/XB1 vs PS4 Pro/XB1X, and there's always PSVR for console VR support.

ps5 is ps4 backward compatible, means R* can potentially save multimillion dollars to make ps5 port, all they need is just a enhancement patch similar to the one for PS4 PRO.

dunno if X scarlet has X1's backward compatibility tho.
