If you've played The Witcher series before, or you're looking forward to the upcoming Nintendo Switch port of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, yet still want more Witcher content, Netflix is happy to oblige. The streaming service has just given fans a first look at some photos from their exclusive TV series, featuring Henry Cavill as its main character, Geralt. We also get to see closeups of Ciri and Yennefer, played by Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra, respectively. Netflix's The Witcher is slated to release later this year, with all eight episodes being available to watch when it premieres.

Cavill looks like a good fit. I wasn't aware the games were based on books or vice versa, but The Witcher 3 plays really well at 4k. Sadly, I'm 50 into it and haven't played in such a long time that I'm going to have to star over from scratch. Can't wait to watch the new TV show!

Oh he fits really well. He just needs a beard. Hes got the face for garalt. 100%. An amazing choice, at least based upon appearance... the lack of facial hair just throws it off. Once he grows his beard out, he will look spot on.

A beard would cover the fact the glaring cleft he has that gerralt doesn't, but it wouldn't cover the completely different ears, nose, lips and eyes though. Gerralt has a downturned nose bulb while cavill has an upturned one, Cavill has very pronounced bow lips while geralts lips are very straight, etc. I suppose it's the closest they'll get for a famous actor though.

Henry Cavill is a horrible actor. He was a factor in man of steel n justice league being not so great. The only worse super-man was the guy from super-man returns. Hope DC comics and warner bros never hire either of them again as super-man.

A beard won't happen. This is based on the books, not the games, and what's canon in the book is that Geralt hates beards.

My guess this could be the next big thing since GOT ended or the Amazon LOTR prequel series if that happens. But superman playing the lead I'm already put off. They should of gone with a unknown fresh talent instead of a DC flop.
