I dont have SXOS so im setting up emuNAND manually.

1. I followed This link and confused on part 2 "Both partitions should be primary partitions." So i did this, one partition is 29.2 and the other my remaining amount 90 something. When plugging in my sd, my computer detects both and obviously mounts them both as places to put files in. Is that what it wants?

2. Then part 4 is also confusing and corresponds to my first question:
  1. Create a folder on the root of the sd card called emummc
  2. Create a file in the emummc folder called emummc.ini. Put the following into that ini
3. Which side of the sd card and im making the folder? is it the 29.2gb or the 90gb side?

"Now if you boot fusee-primary.bin, you'll instead boot into emunand. You'll see the new black and white atmosphere logo if you did it successfully.
Your emunand's Nintendo folder can be found in your emummc folder. It will be called something like Nintendo_0000."
4. Does this assume i go to rcm then launch atmosphere and i should be in emunand?

5. Lastly so on boot (completely shutting off my switch) then turning it on, it would be theoretically correct that i would launch sysNAND and be "safe" then when i want to launch cfw and emuNAND, i would go to rcm, launch atmosphere, and automatically be in?

Thanks for your time!!!

1. Yes I think this is normal. If you don't want the 29.2gb part to be mounted by windows you can open the disk manager and remove the assigned letter, this way it will be "hidden" to your computer. (This shouldn't keep emuMMC from working, but if it did just reassign the letter.)
3. You need to make the folder called emummc on the 90gb part of your sd card. Basically the 29.2gb part is emulating the internal memory of the switch for emuMMC, so you shouldn't have to write anything manually there, and the 90gb part behaves like the regular SD card that you put in your switch, so that's where you have to put the config files for atmosphère, your eventual homebrews, etc.
4. Yes, to boot fusee-primary.bin you'll need to go through RCM. That's how you'll boot your switch on emuMMC.
5. Yes that is correct, if you boot normally without using any payload you'll boot your sysNAND (or sys eMMC to stay coherent with the names ^^) and should be good to go online safely.

Thanks for the answer! So i just followed everything and when launching a payload for atmosphere, it gets to the black and white atmosphere logo then just blacks out. You know anything about this?

Please answer these questions they are my problems to so I think you'd help lots of people.
And I have another question; Is this the safer hidden 1 file emummc or other one compared to emunand.

No idea sorry, maybe the sector you wrote in the ini file is not the right one ? If you removed the assigned disk letter maybe try reassigning it, I never tried it myself and just assumed it wouldn't be a problem. I'm sure if you ask the reSwitched discord some people will be able to help.
Anyway as stated on the latest atmos release emuMMC support is really unpolished at this point so at worst wait for the next release. Also CTCaer (the author of hekate) has teased his next tool coming soon, called Nyx, and it will probably be something that simplifies the management of emuMMC partitions (don't quote me on that though, he didn't say exactly what it would be, but that's what most people expect). In any case the next hekate release should support booting emuMMCs (or maybe even be fully replaced by Nyx).

Sorry but I really don't understand your question... All I can say is that emuMMC and emuNAND are just two names for the same thing in the cas of the switch. From my understanding an eMMC is a specific architecture of NAND memory, and the switch uses this kind of memory as internal storage, hence people decided to use the term emuMMC instead of emuNAND.
But I assume our question meant something else so feel free to rephrase.
