tinfoil (by blawar) will soon be bringing an option to upgrade / downgrade the system firmware. The FW files needs to be in a NSP container.

I like the atmosphere theme. One can only imagine what that could imply.

ChoiDuJourNX is already perfect.
But, downloading firmwares with nut server can be useful

Choi is really good, but it has some drawbacks. Network and USB firmware installs are great for user experience. This feature will only work for users with a valid SX license (but will run on reinx).

Like what?

a) Getting 200+ files to your sd card to install is not great user experience. There are many options to do so: taking out sd card, ftp, nxmtp, but its generally not user friendly. I'm changing this up by requiring a single file for firmwares (NSP) which makes managing them much easier.

b) Supporting firmware installlation over ftp, http, nut, sd, google drive, nut, sxusb, usb, basically all supported protocols. HBG shop has already uploaded all of the firmwares so their users will automatically always have access to easily install any firmware.

c) you get a list of ALL of the firmwares to choose from to install, its literally just click allowing users to change firmwares very easily.

d) opportunity to warn users about installing firmwares that their CFW may not support.

e) One less item cluttering HBL homebrew list.

f) raj is ded.

Having options is great though, not everyone may want to use it, but having another option hurts no one.

Sure, that sounds nice and all. But can you stop your bs about trying to push down what choi and other homebrew has they have drawbacks. What it has isn't a drawback, it's not just as developed. It's a big difference between drawbacks and lacking features.

Lacking a feature is a drawback, and it is not BS if it is true. I am just adding more polish to the process. Choi is great, this will be an option for users who want network / usb installations of firmware.

The program that fatal errors out when installing games is now set to do firmware installations?

I'm not a political person at all and really have no standards for what Homebrew i am willing to try. But since a lot of these post classic tinfoil nsp installers just fatal error out why would anyone do it?

I have not gotten a fatal while installing, and I have not heard of any reports of that. I have heard of reports of people crashing from corrupted exfat though (should use fat32).

The firmware install is structured in a way where a brick is not possible except in a small 1-2 second window. As long as the user does not press home or crash during that time, they are fine. Choi has the same limitation, as does the original nintendo firmware installer.

I told you months ago about fatals when installing from google file stream, as did other users, and you ignored those reports then as you're ignoring them now I guess.

Google file stream works, what does not work is USB install from a mounted google file stream, which is a very niche thing and a low priority.

Thanks for at least acknowledging it this time, better than lying about having no fatal reports.

I acknowledged it in the original post months ago, I just forgot about it because it is so rare and uncommon. @TheZander 's post implied that tinfoil frequently fatals during installs, which is simply not true. To put it another way, I have not gotten a fatal report, since the USB install not working on google file stream months ago.
