Should I just message a bunch of guys on ebay asking for the serial number for the switch they are selling?

Is it safe to say that the nintendo refurbished switches that nintendo is selling on ebay are all patched?

How would you personally get a switch that's hackable? And any ideas on if a new hack for the patched switches will come out? I prefer to buy new and don't mind waiting if its been discussed that a new hack is coming in a couple of months...

Swap Sites/Apps are best tbh, cause you can see yourself and test before buying
e.g. Gumtree, Adverts, e.t.c

Thanks. If I'm using a swap site, what's the best and easiest way to make sure the switch isn't banned and also does it matter what firmware it's on?

Is there a way of testing (or does it even matter) how many fuses are burned?

Anything else I should check other than the serial?

I appreciate the help :)

Just ask if its banned, if you want to test, just try anything that doesnt work on a banned console.
Lower the firmware, the better.
Yeah use Hekate, it says how many in that.
Fuses will basically tell you if you can downgrade and what you can safely downgrade to

What does not work on a banned console ? Mine is banned and does not have a linked Nin profile -- not being a butt--- just really want to know.

I purchased a Refurbished Switch directly from Nintendo's website (not ebay) and I was able to hack mine despite what the serial guide states on GBAtemp's forum. Serial is XAW94200****** and is the Red (Mario) version

That being said, if you happen to get a patched unit from them, you wont be able to return it.

The form said for xaw9 possible patched didnt outright say for certain it was patched

Order on eBay from a seller that offers "Free Returns". If the one you get is patched, just return it. Return shipping is prepaid and the sellers are not allowed to charge restocking fees.

What does the ZAJ1, XAW4, XAW1, etc.. stand for? Does it stand for systems that have different color joysticks or bundles?

The reason I'm asking is I want to try to get the newest nonpatched one. Obviously I'm looking at the serial number too.

The first part of the serial number refers to the factory (and possibly region, I can not recall) the Switch was made in and helps Nintendo identify where their consoles were made, likely for quality assurance/monitoring return rate/failures reasons.

I bought one from eBay for 160.00 two months ago. I made sure to ask about the serial number so I would get an unpatched switch.
