Another trash pokemon game. Why doesnt GameFreak return to the old standard? I want my sinnoh remakes NOW! Or else i wont buy another pokemon game

I wouldnt put it past them (Gamefreak) will probably do the same thing sinnoh re-makes with what they've done with Sword/Shield

Im guessing those titles will be use for future Pokemon Hacks and not legit games

Anything is possible....unless someone trademarks it right now.

Longinus probably won't happen, ever(-ish), but Spear might. (RBY, GSC, yada-yada, so Sword/Shield/___ (spear seems to fit))
OR/AS altered the formula, while S/M and US/UM broke the trend.

Again, who knows--hell, Tronald Dump might nuke the world before S/S even sees the light of day.

If that's your reason to not get the game, fine, but to called them lazy for not being able to get every single Pokemon animated for not just battles, but for the open world for the beginning of this Pokemon Generation is a bit too much. Let alone develop the game itself.

I haven't had time to watch the E3 footage yet, but if this is true it's a load of crap. Too much effort to put all the Pokemon in?? Meanwhile they're still reusing the same models and animations since gen 6! It seems like it wouldn't take much more than a simple copy/paste to add them all in. And they did it on the 3DS, so there's really no excuse.

Well, no point getting salty over it I guess. At this point I don't really have much faith in the future of the series anyways, and I'll always have the fantastic original DS games to fall back on whenever I need a hit of the good stuff.

Blegh.

How to convert hype into hate in just one second part 2 (part 1 being the PokeBank case in 2016), Game Freak edition.

Just cancelled my pre-order.

I really hope they change their minds even if that means a delay, there's no valid excuse now, they have only to adapt their existing models used in SM, their argument of having technical issues in a system powerful that it's previous generation one is laughable, specially coming from a company that gets a lot of money to invest from this franchise.

I understand it’s because of the dynamax. But they could limit the dynamax to non-legendaries and non-mythical pokemon. Have shines lose their colors when giant size. You know reduce the workload that way.

The second issue they say is balancing because of all the different moves. Certain moves are already unobtainable out size of their regions. The fix here should of dropped forgetting moves. Instead require moves have to be set active. Allowing maybe up to 6 moves chosen at a time. Perhaps maybe the first six moves your Pokémon use, are the ones that become set for that battle.

Outside of that, going over and redoing each pokemon’s Move list.

There are several old moves from the first 3 gens that are near duplicates of each other. Like bubble and bubble beam. Merge them into one move and have the speed reduction chance now be calculated by a new stat on the Pokémon. Give the Pokémon an ability stat that determines the chance of there abilities activating. And an effective stat, this stat would determine the chances of moves effects working. But the move’s typing has to match the pokemon’s typing. If it doesn’t, than the move’s effect chance is reduced. I say reduced by as much as half. If the Pokémon your attacking is the same type as the move, than that should also calculate as a reduction. The two reduction should be stackable.

Ok, let's see if I can get this straight... Pokémon Home is going allow you to permanently deposit pokémon from Pokémon Bank, Pokémon Go, Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee to one big cloud without the ability to return them to said games, but allows Sword & Shield to both deposit AND withdraw pokémon that ONLY exist in it's regional pokédex... WHY BOTHER MAKING THE APPLICATION IN THE FIRST PLACE!?!?
What this implies is that when you transfer a pokémon not in Sword & Shield into Pokémon Home, that Pokémon is perpetually trapped in the cloud! That does not make ANY sense!!! That makes the whole thing absolutely pointless! If Pokémon Home only allowed pokémon found in Sword & Shield to be transferred from the older games, that would make a little more sense... but why??? Sword & Shield was supposed to correct the mistakes Pokémon S/M/US/UM made with their exclusion of a national pokédex (No, Pokémon Bank does not count as a National Pokédex, and LGP & LGE gets a pass from me, because they were supposed to be a remake of the Yellow Version), but this is 100 times worse! This is supposed to be the NEXT GENERATION of Pokémon, but not including a national pokédex AGAIN is just defeating the purpose of Pokémon altogether: To get every single pokémon that exist, and make a complete compendium of them! And even more reprehensible, Sword & Shield, and may I remind you: the NEXT GENERATION OF POKÉMON WON'T EVEN INCLUDE ALL 809 PREVIOUS POKÉMON!! That is completely unacceptable to start out a new generation! This may not matter to anyone, but my favorite pokémon is Kirlia. I am actually so glad that they included Kirlia in Sword & Shield! However, that is beyond the point I am making! By completely excluding a vast majority of pokémon from the games of a brand new generation, that may have effectively killed the true lore of the franchise! What ever happened to "Gotta catch 'em all"? Does this catch phrase meaning anything anymore? I hope that this is fixed and so we get the true generation we deserve! The way I see it right now, it no longer looks like a true generation anymore... Well, thank you for at least including Kirlia in Sword & Shield... But Nintendo and GameFreak! If you are reading this (Which of course you're not, you're Nintendo, what do we expect?), add all the pokémon and a national pokédex! Prove that these games are going to be what us fans are going to enjoy! Do what you did in Generation 6! Right now, you are disappointing all of us!

Can this post be redacted? I no longer stand by this point.

I don't mind this at all. Being able to trade your old mons into the new games just makes it way too easy to keep reusing the same team in every new game. This actually forces you to rethink your strategies, because your favorite mons might not be available. It also makes you appreciate the new mons more.

I gotta be honest, I've never really been disappointed with pokemon or gamefreak until now...

Kind of a shame, but unless this changes this will be the first gen I have skipped in a long time.

I mean, sure we've had a similar (and worse) turn of events way back during the transition from Gen 2 to 3, where we couldn't transfer ANY pokemon from the pre-GBA era. Being a staple feature ever since AND transitioning to a more powerful console, I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed at this decision

I was a little disappointed at first, but now I agree with the decision taken.

Sun and Moon were bad games in my view. Bloated as hell, with too much content and no substance. The games had paper thin stories told in long, dull, unskippable cutscenes. The online metagame was overwhelming at times.

With well over 800 Pokémon across all the games, I support the decision to spend more time polishing the games and less time cramming the data sets and animations required to make every Pokémon available. Pokémon was in dire need of streamlining. I'm so excited to get into the Breath of the Wild Area and see who's there. I look forward to what is hopefully a more balanced meta (okay that's unlikely). I'll still have all my old Pokémon and the games they came from. Heck, some of my old soldiers that also feature in the Galar Dex might make the trip anyway. And those who don't? They'll get another chance at some point.

Correction. They said Pokémon can be set back and forth from let’s go. As long as they are pokemon 1 through 151. They can’t be returned to the bank.

This is where the catches comes in: Pokémon once are put into sword and shield become locked to being transferrable only with home and Sword/shield. This is due to unrevealed stat changes in SS that are applied retrospectively to them.

Sword/Shield are only having select Pokémon from the past 7 gens. This is due to not having Dynamax models for all Pokémon. Plus other balancing fixes not completed. It’s been assumed half of game freak’s staff is busy working on their other game, Town.

Balancing out the mia Pokémon will probably be done with a patch eventually, due to the public out lash. But I assume they’ll be locked from dynamaxing til a sword and shield sequel. Those probably won’t come for a year or two later. I see them as being sold as DynaSwordMax and DynaShieldMax.
