I've tested the new release of Spine (20190609), the new HLE PS4 emulator (think of Wine) and now it can also run "We are doomed" (with some graphic glitches tho) other than "Megaman Legacy". To be honest, the previous release could have been a prank, but showing two random titles running seems to be the real deal.

In the words of the author "One more down, 9998 to go." ^__^

At the moment it's something more than a PoC and should be seen as a demo. To try it out one need a Linux distribution, for the moment it's distributed in binary form with a flatpak and a standalone static binary (the static binary still requires OpenGL and SDL2 installed). The source code available on GitHub it's only for building the flatpak.

There are few more details on a couple of threads on Reddid, under /emulation, like the shaders used by the titles are manually converted by the author.

Update:

How's the ongoing development, can you give us some sneak peak?

I keep working on it every day. The video shows the best parts. Of the games I've tested apart from the 20 shown here about 30 others go ingame (though usually with worse effects than shown here), ~150 are at intro level - meaning they try to draw something and ~80 don't (so roughly 20%/50%/30% though it's a bit biased as I tend to test simpler games).
