Microsoft has given us the official unveiling of the Xbox Project Scarlett, their next gen console. It’s set for launch Holiday 2020, and will be “4x” faster than the Xbox One. Will utilize the power of the cloud. Phil Spencer claims that it will have 120hz support and up to 8K resolution. Halo Infinite will be a launch title.

Nintendo has the portable market all to themselves, and they've never been concerned about having less powerful hardware than the competition in the past. I don't see that changing now. Even a 'Switch Pro' will only manage to be as powerful as a PS4 at best, but that would be more than sufficient for porting next-gen titles anyway.

I think you're underestimating the fact that Switch is a portable console (the only one left on the market other than mobile phones) and it's selling like hot cakes. It's not only about raw power.

That's exactly what i was saying. A switch capable of performing similar to a ps4 would be enough to exists with both scarlet and ps5. The diference now is that current switch strugles a lot with a lot of third party titles, but at least it can hold up itself since the difference of power isnt that gigantic (same thing with their past consoles). But no matter if they have the portable market, if the switch wont be able to hold itself up with the ps5 or scarlet games, then there is no way you will be seeing third party support, unless third parties develop exclusive games for the switch, but again, nintendo will start missing a lot of the third parties games, and it isnt like third parties are actually developing exclusive titles for the switch... besides a really small minority (which ended up becoming available elsewhere anyway)

I would really prefer the Switch Pro to be more compact and portable rather than powerful.

It would be OK for me if they even went back to the caveman era and pulled some GBA-SP clappable thing instead, compact and without detachable joycons. You could still "dock" it and use external wireless controllers if you liked.

Erm, wait, I need to wake up.
