Thanks a lot !Awesome job on v1.0! Hell I was happy with v0.2 but v1.0 looks very polished now. Nice work!
Any particular size requirements for the amiibo icons? Any hint where to find them? Thanks a lot !
300x300Any particular size requirements for the amiibo icons? Any hint where to find them?
Before I set this up, just wanted to make sure I understood everything.
1. I create for example:
sd:\emuiibo\Link SSB\Link SSB.bin
sd:\emuiibo\Luigi\Luigi.bin
and so on?
Or is it wiser to just place the bin files in sd:\emuiibo\ and let it do the job by itself (after a reboot)?
3. For the icons I would put the following images in the following places?
sd:\switch\AmiiSwap\game_icons\BotW.png
sd:\switch\AmiiSwap\game_icons\MK8D.png
sd:\switch\AmiiSwap\Link SSB.png
sd:\switch\AmiiSwap\Luigi.png
4. Which resolutions are recommended for the icons @FuryBaguette?
5. What you refer to as "categories" are for example game names (like "Zelda BOTW" in your screenshot)?
6. If 5. is true, there's no auto detection via titleIDs of games or stuff like that. Instead I just create "categories" for my games from within AmiiSwap and place icons according to those exact category names as png files in the game_icons subfolder, correct?
7. If I use the same Amiibo (e.g. Luigi) for different games, emuiibo automatically handles the different save data in the xml file, I won't have to worry about that, right?
8. It even hasn't anything to do with AmiiSwap or the categories I've got there, instead emuiibo detects the currently running game and applies a save entry inside the XML for that game in the Luigi.xml?
9. This might not be the correct place to ask this but if I dump my Link Amiibo which already has save data for Smash Bros. on it with TagMo (Android) to a bin, that save data won't be usable with emuiibo/AmiiSwap right now ... it's a "vanilla" Link instead, I guess?
Great, thx for the fast answer, sir!1. Place the bins in the emuiibo folder and let it do it's job or it won't work at all.
you skipped 2 so 3. Yes
4. 300x300 max I think
5 & 6. Exactly, it's a way to categories your amiibos easily, I personally prefer using game names but some use other things
7 & 8. I actually don't know, you'll have to ask Xortroll about that
9. I think but ask Xor to be sure
You need to use Images->Search in AmiiSwap to see amiibo images in menu.Great, thx for the fast answer, sir!
You should read emuiibo docs. You have to place your amiibos ( .bin ) in sdroot:/emuiibo , no need to rename.Hello,
I use another Amiibo emulation tool which was named "Amii-Spoofer" ("nfpu_mitm.kip" module). But this tool is not very convinient:
- It doesn't support amiibo write
- Swapping amiibos is a little bit tedious
- It doesn't seem to be recognized in all games (it works fine in BotW but not in SSBU)
So I tried several times to change and use emuiibo/AmiiSwap combination instead but it never worked.
For my test, I got the Sonic amiibo (from the first website I find in Google when I search for "NFC bank", not sure I can give the direct link here).
The first thing I noticed is that the amiibo must absolutly be named "amiibo.bin" in a sub-folder inside "SDRoot:/emuiibo" folder (any other name/configuration make AmiiSwap fail to find the amiibo. In my test case, the path "SDRoot:/emuiibo/Sonic/amiibo.bin" works, "SDRoot:/emuiibo/Sonic.bin" fails, "SDRoot:/emuiibo/Sonic/Sonic.bin" fails. Is it normal?
Once I get the amiibo recognize, I load it and I start the emulation (state is confirmed in AmiiSwap at the top right). But here is the results I get:
- In Switch settings, the Amiibo is not seen
- In BotW, nothing is given by the Amiibo
- The worst is in SSBU, the game freezes when I access to the amiibo screen: it indefinitly "reads the amiibo data" and there is no way to leave the game (Home button doesn't return to HorizonOS), there is no other choice than rebooting the console
Do you have any idea about this kind of issue?
Thank you for your help!
For this issue you should ask in emuiibo's threadThank you! The issue came from the fact that I did not reboot after putting my Amiibo through FTP in "SDRoot:/emuiibo" folder.
So now, the Sonic Amiibo is properly detected by SSBU. But I cannot change the owner name ("emuiibo"): I though the Amiibo data could be written since Emuiibo v0.2?
Also, the Amiibo is still not seen in Switch settings.
Unfortunately this doesn't work for me. It does for Amiibo icons (placed in AmiiSwap folder) but not for category items.Place your game icons inside sd:/switch/AmiiSwap/game_icons/ as a jpg, jpeg or png with the name of the category/game
Game ( category ) icons needs to be placed in SD:/switch/AmiiSwap/game_icons with same name as game.Unfortunately this doesn't work for me. It does for Amiibo icons (placed in AmiiSwap folder) but not for category items.
I made sure to resize them to max 300 pixel on longest side and renamed them exactly after my category names.
Any ideas?
Also how would I have to replace special characters?
Like in "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild"?
I assume "The Legend of Zelda_ Breath of the Wild"?
