Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 has received a completed English fan translation
Before Fire Emblem: Three Houses releases later this year, it might be a good time to go back and revisit some of the older titles in the series. Especially the Japan-only Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 for the Super Famicom, as the game has just received a brand new completed fan-translation. Those familiar with Thracia 776 will likely know that an existing fan-translation has already been around for quite a while, and while it was usable, there were a few mistakes and quirks here and there. Project Exile, the new fan-translation team, decided to redo the script and all dialogue, creating an incredibly faithful and accurate “localization”. The newly-released patch is complete, and allows the game to be played in English from start to finish. Included in the release, which can be found in the source below, is the patch, as well as a video guide explaining the process of patching your ROM file.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 is the fifth Fire Emblem game, and released in 1999, making it the final official physical Super Famicom game. It takes place as a side story to Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, though you can play it without prior knowledge. Thracia 776 is notable for its heavy focus on story and high difficulty curve compared to other entires in the franchise.
