I'm not sure if this is the right topic to post this. I'm totally against Homebrew or any other sort of hacking my 3DS. I'd just like to know how you can play 3DS games on a 3DS without installing homebrew, can I just download the games on the sd card of my 3DS and start playing them or wouldn't it recognize the games ?

Thanks in advance

You could buy a Sky3DS flashcart, but that is very expensive ($100+) and it doesn't allow you to use any homebrew, cheats, eShop games, etc, anything that isn't an emulated cartridge. It also will get you banned from online services if you use it on any online games without using a private header (requires another dongle you have to buy plus a legitimate cartridge). It would be a very weird decision to do so when you could get CFW for free which allows so much more.

What do you mean by CFW ?

Why you are against Homebrew? Install the CFW by guide here https://3ds.hacks.guide/ you can play 3ds games via SD Card.
What's CFW ?

Stargate 3ds isn't that expensive any more, it's around 60 dollars, but still not cheap, if you need a flashcard to play 3ds roms, I never recommend the Stargate 3ds, Sky3ds plus is much better.

I once heard a user say that they'd never recommend buying any of these two. Apparently that user broke their device with one of these flashcards. I'd only buy an R4 card that could play 3DS games, because I'm already used to them

Custom firmware. Allows you to play 3DS roms and use homebrew. Follow https://3ds.guide to install it.
Sorry but homebrew is too risky for me. I don't have to justify myself about this topic. As I already mentioned in my post, I'm against homebrew or any other sort of hacking my device. You can't force me to do something I don't agree with !

Then Sky3ds plus is your most safe and easiest choice to play 3DS Roms. It's safe to use, I have one, use it for 1 year, never meet a problem.

R4 card doesn't play 3DS Games, you should know that.

Dude no one is trying to force you to do anything... You were confused about what "CFW" was and someone tried to explain it to you. If you are truly against homebrew and hacking because of the level difficulty, there are guides available that are pretty straight foward. However, there is always the option to use a flash cart with very limited functionality and significantly higher prices without the need to hack.

But you can't deny the fact that these two users aren't able to respect people's decisions or else they wouldn't have told me to use homebrew

You asked a question and I answered it. Calm your farm!

You seem to think CFW is risky, but actually it is completely safe, while using a flashcart to play roms is risky in terms of getting your console banned, plus expensive. You can do whatever you want to do, but you should get more informed before making a decision, for your own good.

R4 cards cannot play 3DS roms.

Because you want to do something that's more difficult, costly, and dangerous than just using custom firmware... which at this point is safe (relatively speaking) and free of charge. They're trying to help you by telling you the best way to accomplish what your end goal of playing 3DS roms is.

If you want a different answer, emulation on a PC using Citra is the next best thing.

Yes relatively speaken but I'm not risking destroying my 3DS and risking of getting banned if I play online. I've got no reason to justify myself to anyone. All I want of the users on this platform is simply replying to my questions, opinions aren't needed. It's also not my obligation to chase other people only to respond my questions. Either you respond to all of my questions of my post or you don't that's up to you

Well I'm afraid then that the simple answer is that what you want to do is not possible.

Perhaps if you read the replies in full before flying off the rails, you would have seen that we've answered all your questions, directlly and indirectly. Let me dissect it for you.

I'm not sure if this is the right topic to post this.
Yes it is. We would have told you otherwise. Or perhaps not. Sometimes people are nice enough to respond even if the original thread was posted in the wrong section. But I digress.

Cool. You do you.

I'd just like to know how you can play 3DS games on a 3DS without installing homebrew,
Except hacking/homebrew/flashcarts/CFW and the like is exactly what enables you to play games without having to buy them first. The closest you are going to get without any form of hacking is with Sky3DS as Quantumcat mentioned, but that is also very very finicky now.

can I just download the games on the sd card of my 3DS and start playing them or wouldn't it recognize the games ?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: I mean, if it really was that simple, we'd tell you. Believe it or not, we don't get anything whatsoever from you hacking your 3DS. No commissions, nothing. Okay maybe I lied a little. Some of us get the satisfaction knowing that we may have made someone's day. So when people are giving you all the other options, it is because you simply cannot copy ROMs/CIAs into your SD/microSD and expect it to run. We honestly thought it was obvious enough when we presented you with all the other choices.

Thanks in advance
You are welcome.

And another thing, please be respectful of other members. No one here is out to get you. Nobody is putting you in any unnecessary risk. People are not obliged to help you but they have, so appreciate their assistance instead of acting like we are here to watch you crash and burn.
