Pricing, games, and launch info for the Google Stadia will be revealed this summer

stadia.0.jpg

While Google took to GDC 2019 back in March to unveil its upcoming Google Stadia platform, the information revealed at the event was fairly basic. There were still many questions left to answer about the Stadia, such as the games it would have, or when it would launch. As hype and unease continue to build, Google plans to announce further information about the Stadia "later this summer", regarding pricing, game announcements, and launch info. Considering E3 is around the corner, we might learn more relatively soon.

I'm a bit curious but I also hate monthly paid services so eeehhh...
i bought sekiro and resident 2 for 40€ each, i took just about 10days to finish them all so it's about 80€ for 20days, i highly doubt the monthly sub will be higher than that.

I'm still very sceptical about latency, but for the more casual and slower paced games, it might be okay. Price would really be a deciding factor. I doubt many would be interested if the price isn't really good.

Consider the stinginess of Nintendo's $20 a year... (Of course, you don't get much for it either, so it's not super comparable, but still).

I could really not be less interested in Stadia and really hope the future doesn't move entirely into the cloud based streaming services. Though I can certainly imagine it going that way given how much control it gives publishers over licences.

This. I don't care what anyone says. Everything goes to streaming, and anything past the PS5/Xbox Two/Nintendo Switch 2 (if I even have time to ever play anything after this generation, I'm honestly satisfied with what I got at this point for the rest of my life and I'm sure if I have kids they will never want anything new considering how much I got) is probably gonna be my last. I've barely played any games this generation TBH!

I really hate Sony style controllers. Why does that button layout persist? Nintendo even did it with the Wii Classic controller. How can anyone find cocking your thumbs to use the analog sticks like that comfortable?

Some people have smaller hands than you do.

Cloud/subscription-based gaming. Hard pass. Can't even sell the games or keep them offline, what a waste.
Especially since even in home streaming still sucks, why the hell would anyone want to stream from a server? Why does any company even want to stream games from a server when an iphone can already play fortnite at 60 fps?

I want what you're smoking.
I just have decent internet and can't afford a real pc rn. That's all :). I cloud game and use my pc just fine. It's a little annoying because of things like netflix and steam though
I've used another service with good results too. Also you're free to have some :D

Oh the things I could list that make me not want to stream, but someone, somewhere, will try to convince me that cloud gaming is the future of gaming, etc etc. Please, the day this replaces physical and digital downloads is the day I stop playing games. Or at least, maybe I'll just pirate them out of spite in companies who support this crap.
