@badman112 We will attempt to resolve those issues but it’s more of a system limitation issue with the Switch regarding those scenes. Those scenes push the Switch to the limit graphical wise resulting in the system crashing. But like @Angelus3K said there are easy ways around those two said scenes just bypass them and the continue your HD Project Omnislash journey. That’s a very small price to pay to be able to play such a massive and in depth project on the portable awesomeness of the Switch.

For those spots all you have to do is take out the Char.lgp get past the scene and then save your game and reinsert the Char.lgp back in and you are set. Char.lgp controls all field models, so it will just revert the field models back to the vanilla ones while keeping the HD battle models etc.

Curious if you guys tinkered with the battle background textures any, or have any plans to? They don't seem any different.

@Rahkeesh We have not. Currently there is no way to replace them on the Switch. But that could be an update implemented later on down the line if the means become available. And can someone who uses SXOS please make a YouTube video tutorial or even written tutorial for how to install the project for all SXOS users. It would be appreciated. I want everyone to be able to enjoy the project. Thanks in advance.

You add the files to title. And again on the root. And again on SX root. The over clock file also works even tho it says it doesn’t.

But game crashes and hangs on SXOS.

Well thats a bummer so far 2 fanmade patches of FFX undub and FF7 aren't made compatible to sxos.

ORRRRR you could simplify your life by using NXShell, browsing your SD files and just changing the romfs folder name to "romfs_"

I am using sxOS and I have contributed to this mod and am working on another myself. It 100% works on sxOS. I can guarantee you that either you have not fully updated your sxOS or are doing something else incorrectly. The directory structure is as follows
root/sxOS/titles/0100A5B00BDC6000/romfs/ff7 and so on etc

I explained how to replace battle background textures here. I've had Avalanche Arisen textures at 512x512 for quite a while and put them in my NT 1.4 plus pack, as you can see from the screenshot in that post. I have noticed some issues with the sky having obvious seams and not lining up, although I'm not sure this is any different from the mods on PC. Your team might want to go over that to ensure quality.

Sorry for all the confusion. Got it working on sx os. Apparently a few files didn’t copy over correctly. Working good now. And again the over clock works.

@Rahkeesh my only concern with adding more and more and more and more and more to the project like that is the Switch can already barely handle the HD models increase from the project let alone some big boss fights but I’ve managed to adjust and squeeze everything in there in an orderly and quite sufficient up to par working order with the overclock configuration running. So why keep adding to the work load for things that aren’t entirely necessary? I’d rather have a 100% stable project that could be enjoyed without any crashes or lag than an overly polished and everything upscaled project that will in-turn randomly crash or lag after a certain amount of playtime or when entering scenes that will put a massive strain on the already limited Switch hardware. I’m not trying to be mean and call out the FF7 modding community but it seems like enough is never enough. It’s always “more! more! more!” I understand and respect everyone’s love and admiration for wanting everything perfect because this is the game we all grew up on and love but you have to take a step back and realize this game is from 97 overhauling it took almost 7yrs and still here and there it’s impossible to 100% make everything perfect and we are working with porting to one of the most limited new gen systems on the market right now. The Switch backgrounds field and battle honestly in my opinion aren’t even bad. It’s just everyone’s perfectionist I want more mindset that makes them bad. But, If you truly want to come to the discord and work alongside some other people on the team to convert my HD battle backgrounds I have to try and create a build of the project that can sustain a worker order I’m all for it. Though, I believe Project Omnislash is complete and perfect the way it is right now. minus a few minor model polishing things here and there and finishing the remaining weapons for Yuffie and Caitsith. But that will all be handled with the upcoming final part 4 polishing release.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

@Joshifer34 very good news to hear! I’m glad you got everything figured out. Enjoy the project my friend.

Just out of interest, how can you tell the overclock is working on SX OS? I’m running Atmosphere with the overclock but I couldn’t tell you whether overclock was working or not (even though I’m pretty sure it is).
