How to patch Shenmue to run in 16:9 without load in glitches on the sides of the image (GUI elements will be stretched, so maybe dont replace your original gdis/chds - but just add additional ones).

Extract the gdi using this tool:

Open the 1st_read.bin in a hex editor (f.e. https://www.heise.de/download/product/hxd-50764 ).

Search and replace (select hex in the dropdown menu in replace if you are using HxD from the link above) the following three values:

I tracked down the dev bios. Feels so... Strange as I'm used to the normal bios. But it does work. :3

figured out problem the link doesn't have spaces in its codes.......

In HxD (hex editor) you can enter hex code with spaces or without - doesnt matter. (Or shouldnt. )

Better startup sequence... That's about it. Still can't see your saved data. But the D on the back button is gone. So that's at least... 0.5% improvement... lol

And if you mean game improvement, then no. There's none.

It actually does in win 10 latest version thats why i posted unfortunately it didnt work so my search continues. I will try the second set of codes i found soon.

Was your iso pre patched?

Resident Evil Code Veronica runs pretty good. Just wrong textures all over the place. Same with Mortal Kombat Gold. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 plays nice.

As of this posting, Sonic Adventure softlocks in Ice Cap at the board section. To work around this, pause and restart the area, and it'll skip the cutscene for the board section. The game also runs at double speed for a few seconds when loading a new area or going out of reicast menus/pressing home then going back into the emulator.

Sonic Adventure 2's menus work, but gameplay shows corrupted colors, so it's unplayable.

Those issues aside, both games seem to run at full speed. Looking forward to further developments on this.

I told myself I'd wait for an updated release but I couldn't help myself, this emulator is so frickin' awesome! Cannot wait for future releases

Chuchu rocket and soul calibur performance is great. Only real issue I'm getting is virtua tennis 2, fps seems to wildly dip between 20-60, fairly decent in London court.

I can't use overclocking because I'm on SX OS (I know boo...). Hoping the app will add an option.

CHD is, definitely, the way to go, for me. Lot of space saved.
Reicast even plays that bootleg-looking Lumines-looking game called Irides Master of Blocks.
Had a game glitch after trying MvC2, when it didn't before, but restarting Reicast fixed that.

If it's SX, it's probably for reasons beyond emulation.

Always extracted gdis and searched in much smaller files (3 mb roughly) so it was instant. (1st_boot.bin and one time in one other small file I found pretty quickly).

You can convert them to chd. Or you can just google search for cdis.

It has some minor problems, some 2D elements (like shadows) on screen are misplaced and the cutscenes play at 2x speed but if you've beaten the game a thousand times, like me and want to replay the stages the gameplay runs just fine at 1x speed @60 fps and Widescreen.
