Hey Eipok,

You're right about my USB device ! thanks !
I managed to launch Wii games now using another one.
For that for now, i use HBC forwarder from WiiU menu (then exit) or Haxchi boot manager to access vWii. Then in Wii menu, i launch USB Loader GX.

But i still get the issue i mentionned when trying to launch the USB Loader GX from the Wii-U menu.
It's look like a system error (display the version of the console ect...) raised immediately when trying to launch it (USB loader GX not even start)

Correct me if i'm wrong : it is a forwarder you use to launch Wii games directlty from the Wii-U menu.
(I installed it on the NAND)
I understand that the app path is on the SD card (apps\usbloader_gx) but am i supposed to have it also installed on the down USB slot (where reside Wii games) ?

Thanks in avance.

Have a nice day

EDIT : i think i've found my mistake => i let my 2 USB devices plugged when i installed USB Loader GX in Wii-U menu. The loader could have registered the upper slot (where i put Wii-U games) instead of the lower. (i'm not at home but i'll check this as soon as i can)

No PSX emulator, OP?

I tried it with very low performance, so I uninstalled it...

Hope it worked Laf111!

Finally, i launch only Wii-U and MAME32 games because most of the greatest WII titles were ported to WII-U and GC games look two dirty on my TV.
I prefer playing them on Dolphin (upscaled).

In any case, thanks for your support and for your work on this awesome setup!

I just injected all games so I have all Wii U, Wii, GC, N64, DS and any other system's games directly on my Wii U menu and I only need an external hard drive for all games.

So I took some of eipok’s advise and reconfigured my Wii U. It’s not quite the same, but fairly close. My setup is as follows:

SD Slot:
SanDisk 256GB Extreme microSDXC (FAT 32)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FCR3316/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Wii U System Files
vWii EmuNAND
-All USBLoader Wii Shop Channel games are installed here
vWii Apps
-SysCheck, SaveGame Manager GX, Emulators (etc.)
Emulators (ROMs are stored in respective directories)
- FCE Ultra GX Mod v3.4.3-Mod-2019-06-20
-SNES9x GS v4.4.3
-VisualBoyAdvanceGX v2.4.0
-Wii64 v1.2 Beta
USB Loader GX r1269_mod03
-Nintendont runs through USB Loader GX (v5.486)
Game Cube ISOs

Back USB Top
SanDisk 512GB Extreme microSDXC (FAT 32)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P7M6K35/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Transcend USB 3.0 SDHC/SDXC/microSDHC/SDXC Card Reader, TS-RDF5K (Black)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009D79VH4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Wii ISOs
*I would have liked to gone with the 400 GB, but I have more Wii ISOs then I’d like on account I have many of the kids games for my kid.*

Back USB Bottom
SanDisk 400GB Extreme microSDXC (Wii U proprietary format)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FCQRN9K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Transcend USB 3.0 SDHC/SDXC/microSDHC/SDXC Card Reader, TS-RDF5K (Black)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009D79VH4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Wii U Games (Installed)
eShop Games (Installed)
N64 Virtual Console Games (Installed)

The only thing I do differently is I don’t use the Wii U vWii forwards. For some reason they crash on me a lot and I don’t mind the extra step of going into vWii to get to all the Wii, GameCube and emulator things.

Lastly, here is my vIOS setup.

Thanks eipok for pioneering this project. It wasn’t exactly super cost effective, but the outcome is a great improvement over my previous setup and I'm happier for it!

Hello Gamecaptor!

Thanks for your reply, and thanks for your help first, this wouldnt have started without people like you :)!

Nice setup of yours! I just have some questions:

1. What does this FCE Ultra GX Mod v3.4.3-Mod-2019-06-20 mod have compared to the latest official FCEUGX? (Official link: https://github.com/dborth/fceugx/releases)
2. What do you use the vWii EmuNAND for?
3. Where did you pick the USB Loader GX r1269_mod03 version? I tried to upgrade it directly throught the app, but it says that the v1268 which is the one that I have, is the latest.

Thanks in advance!

BTW, just to confirm I did the latest 5.5.4 update on my WiiU, and worked like a charm:

In summary, having the EUR WiiU in 5.5.3, with CBHC installed with the FW 99.99.99:
  • We don't need to "prepare" the WiiU, like uninstalling, or deactivating anything as the CBHC or Haxsi or whatever.
  • Just let the upgrade download, then it will ask to reboot.
  • After the reboot, the upgrade will be installed.
  • After upgrading, we just go to the "do not touch", it will open the Haxchi, will reboot the WiiU in a "signed" mode.
  • After that, just go to the Homebrew Launcher, go to the CBHC Install Program and do it over again.
  • Reboot again.
  • Everything will keep working and the FW 99.99.99 maintained.
Thank you and hope you take advantage of it.

Best

1. No particular reason, just that the Mod has been getting more attention then the official release. I'm sure either is fine.
2. the EmuNAND is where all my WiiWare stuff is installed to for use with USB Loader GX.
3. Looks like you're good here.

Thanks again for your help!

How did you get your bigger Wii games working? I've seen with stuff like Smash Bros Brawl, it's bigger than 4gb and thus can't be used on Fat32, and I've tried a bunch of different ways but split files never even get the attention of USB loaders. I think I've only tried with like SD and maybe a USB SD Reader. But neither worked, am I just being stupid or what.

Use Wii Backup Manager.
