lets see: the wii u had super mario kart, mkss, mkds and mario kart 64 as vc titles. plus you could play mkss on the ds and gamecube, mkds on the 3ds, mkdd on the wii, mkwii on the wii u, besides mk8dx on the switch is only a remake of mk8 on the wii u. nintendo HAS to make a new game for the switch

I like them both, I put in like 400 hours on Xenoblade 2, but X is pretty fun too, being portable is nice.

I do not think that your analogy applies.
Mario Kart 8 is a (the?) best-selling Wii U game, released on 2014. One could say that the relatively short lifespan of the Wii U did not justify assigning more resources to the title, but the 3DS was a successful console, Mario Kart 7 was one of its earliest titles, and it never received additional content. And the case of Mario Kart DS on the DS is very similar. For me, it is a company policy.

I would love to receive another Mario Kart on the Switch, at least periodic additional content to keep it 'fresh', but I doubt it.

I think that with the release of smash ultimate update 3 giving us stage builder, we should get Mario Kart 9 with a Track Builder (with very very high limits (there are some pretty complicated tracks on mk8)dx, VR support (and not the shit nintendo gave us for btow vr(3rd person)) meaning we should have 1st person view with an option to toggle motion controls and it should have compatability with the labo wheel, pedal & vr headset, every track that has ever made an appearance in the franchise, item toggle for vs mode (for individual items), get rid of the coin item, bring back every kart from every game along with all wheels & gliders from mk8dx and mk7, more baby characters(baby dk, bowser, wario, WAH-luigi, yoshi, birdo, etc.), burn pink gold peach, cat peach and tanooki mario in the deepest darkest pit of the Myamoto-forsaken underworld, an option to toggle Double-Dash style play, character exclusive items, bikes should be able to wheelies, more battle modes, courses from games like Super Mario 64, Wind Waker, etc., Mii voice modifier, and more

vr and 1st person have a very good chance to show off on mario kart 8 deluxe and a slightly smaller chance on mk9 but track builder wont happen sorry. i agree with the wheelies part. now with all of the things you want this would be:

I wish Nintendo had the rights to some Rare stuff again. Banjo-Kazooie feels like it belongs on switch. (another game in the series would be nice too)
Also A Hat in Time. It's confirmed but they haven't said anything except a Japanese Nintendo Direct said "spring 2019".
Instead of just wii u ports, new Donkey Kong country and Mario Kart games would be cool too.
