I'm using unc0ver b50 and NXBoot works flawlessly. I also confirm that it works on b49 version.
My device is iPhone 6S running iOS 12.1
I confirm that removing any NXBoot ipa and reinstalling via the official repo on Cydia works with the latest unc0ver (3.0.1 as of this writing). No need for rootlessJB or iSuperSU.
Thanks again to @mologie for putting his tweak out there!

Good news, This is a new tools from Coolstar (Electra Team) and it support All devices, iOS 12(included A12) — 12.1.2, Some1 update this tool to support it?

Could you try whether it works out of the box on your 12.1.X device? NXBoot uses only standard (but internal on iOS) APIs and relies on some sandbox wizardry from the jailbreak. If Chimera handles the sandbox correctly then no update for NXBoot is needed.

I just try it from Chimera and Sileo
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?

Please wait... This Chimera have bug, you can't Restore Rootfs after you use it, that mean after you jailbreak it, You can't un-jailbreak it now...
But they team still not fix this bug yet.

I can confirm that NXBoot works on iPad Pro 2018 without any dongle/OTG. Just a simple USB-C to C cable
And I can confirm iPhone XS MAX , XR even you use official's Lighting-> USB Type-c cable... It don't work, You still need a OTG cable to work, so if you want to it, don't waste your money, This is only work for iPad Pro 2018

I'm trying to get nxboot to run on macos but I keep getting command not found - How do I run it?

If you are unfamiliar with how to use a shell it boils down to this: First change to nxboot's directory (cd command), then make the command executable (chmod +x nxboot), finally run it via ./nxboot, for example ./nxboot -h to see all available arguments. There is a nice article here how to use the cd command to navigate your file system in a shell: https://blog.teamtreehouse.com/introduction-to-the-mac-os-x-command-line
