There is no difference whatsoever between physical dumps or psn downloads. They all share the same serial. The games don’t have any headers afaik similar to the 3ds and stuff. So save yourself the trouble and just download them. If for whatever reason you still want to dump them, I can guide you through that as well later once you get to that step.

Ok, I got one game that has a different serial. I know because after it installed via PKGj I got a second bubble of the same game.
So, if you don't mind, what is the process for dumping a game?

Which game is that? And what’s the serial on both?

More likely than not, it’s a different region of the game

Tearaway.
The physical serial is PCSA00099.
The digital serial is PCSA00144.
Fair enough.

Here is the gist of what I remember:
Delete your bubble from main screen (back up save data first through vitashell).

When you insert the vita physical game, you will see it in vitashell as drive gro0. Go inside that drive, to app folder. Inside that folder will be PCSA00099 folder. Copy that folder to app folder in ux0. This is your game.

I suppose you have already launched the game before with NoNpDRM enabled? If yes, go to nonpdrm/license/PCSA00099 folder to see a .rif file there. Copy that file to app/PCSA00099/sce_sys/package/ and rename it to work.bin.

After all of thanks done. Go back to main vitashell screen, press triangle, refresh Livearea. The game should appear now. Put back your your save data and enjoy

Got a small problem, I can't find the save file. I go into ux0:user/00 and there is no folder PCSA00099. I have a save file, and it is backed up to online storage.
I assume it is safe to use the online backup?

Yes you are fine.
Your save could also be in a drive called grw0. Not all games have this drive. Very few have it, which is why I didn’t mention it.

If such a drive is not there, then I have no clue why your save is not in user/00.. it should be in one of those 2 places

Ok. I always get the weird issues.
After I get all this taken care of, I'll update.

UPDATE :
I broke something, don't know what, but it's a lot easier to just start over. To be fair, I did deviate from your instructions, so it was my fault.
I have the backup of the files just before I did the transfer to the SD card, so I am starting over from there. It's annoying, but I did screw up.

I got everything all downloaded and set up. I probably could have go e with a 128GB card, as I'm using 107GB after rounding up.
However, this is fine as I got enough space if I buy more games.
Thanks for the input, advise, and guidance Madridi!

Keep in mind that dlc and updates takes a significant amount as well. 128GB gives you about, 118GB of useable storage I believe. So if you factor in adding new games across all consoles (vita, psp, ps1, etc..) that would be very easy to fill up.

It’s your choice ultimately though.

Good luck

Ya, but unless there is something else I really want to buy on the Vita, which I doubt would happen now, I'm clear.
I have the 256GB all set up and have 134GB free, so it's not like I'll run into an issue.
